Biggest Ship Ever… Harmony of the Seas Coming to Ft. Lauderdale

The Harmony of the Seas arrives in Ft. Lauderdale next week.  The ship will offer a short 3 day cruise on November 5th, and a couple 2 day cruises for press and travel agents before beginning 7 day cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean on November 12th.

Here’s what you need to know about Harmony of the Seas cruise ship.

Harmony of the Seas Cabins
There are a variety of cabins on this ship. 15 of them are studio cabins just for solo travelers. There are also cabins with views of the Promenade, Boardwalk and Central Park. For passengers that want a view of the ocean without having to pay for it, there are 76 inside cabins that have virtual balconies. For those with kids or just that need more space, there are family cabins as well as suites. They range from 272 square feet to about 1,600 square feet. Overall the ship has enough cabins to accommodate about 5,500 hundred passengers.

Harmony of the Seas Dining
Onboard there is everything from upscale dining options to more casual ones.

Here’s a breakdown of what to eat:

Free Restaurants
American Icon Grill- Located on Deck 3, this restaurant features American fare such as fried chicken and ribs
Chic- This restaurant can be found on Deck 5 and there are a variety of options available for those passengers that want food with a lot of flavor
The Grande- Located on Deck 4, this restaurant is for those that want a more formal dinner with exquisite items like lobster

In addition to these restaurants there are several buffets and cafes onboard that include Boardwalk Dog House, Sorrento’s Pizzeria, Vitality Café, Windjammer Marketplace, Solarium Bistro and Park Café. For those that are suite guests, there’s a restaurant that’s only available for them to dine at called Coastal Kitchen, located on Deck 17.

Restaurants That Charge A Fee
Guests can also enjoy other restaurants on ship that aren’t free. These restaurants don’t generally tend to be as crowded as the free restaurants and they also offer a variety of different dishes.

These restaurants include:
150 Central Park- This is a multi-course restaurant located on Deck 8
Chops Grille- This is the signature steakhouse of the Royal Caribbean ships and can be found at Deck 8
Giovanni’s Table- Located on Deck 8, Giovanni’s Table features Italian dishes like spaghetti
Izumi Hibachi & Sushi- This pan-Asian restaurant is located on Deck 4
Johnny Rockets- Located on Deck 6, Johnny Rockets serves all American favorites like hamburgers and French fries
Sabor Taqueria and Tequila Bar- This Mexican inspired restaurant serves up Mexican fare like tacos and quesadillas on Deck 6
Wonderland- Located at Decks 11 and 12, there’s quite a few unique items here with décor that is themed after the movie Alice and Wonderland

In addition to food offerings there are a varieties of bars located throughout the ship that include Trellis Bar, Rising Tide Bar, Bionic Bar with dancing robot bartenders, Boleros and Schooner Bar.

Harmony of the Seas Recreation and Entertainment Opportunities

Passengers will certainly have a lot to do on this ship including:

– Zip lining over the Boardwalk
– Surfing on FlowRider
– Sliding down one of three water slides…Typhoon, Cyclone & Supercell
– 10 story dry slide called Ultimate Abyss
-Taking up a round of mini-golf at Harmony Dunes
– Swimming in one of three pools
– Playing carnival inspired games on the Boardwalk
– Ice-skating in the Studio B Ice Rink
– Gambling in the Casino Royale
– Watching a show in the Attic Comedy Club
– Singing Karaoke at the On Air club
– Listening to Jazz at Jazz on 4

Kids Activities
There are even quite a few things for children to do on the Harmony of the Seas. On Deck 14 there is Kid’s Avenue that has areas for all ages. Children can take part in science activities, art projects and dance classes. For teens there is a dance club and an arcade on Deck 15. The most exciting feature, is the water park for kids called Splashaway Bay, will include sea creature water cannons, winding slides, a gigantic drench bucket and a multiplatform jungle gym

The Harmony of the Seas has an itinerary that includes Naples, Rome, Florence and Barcelona. At the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017 it will also add Western and Eastern sailings to its itineraries.
