How to Pack for a Summer Destination

Summer is right around the corner so you know what that means- summer travel adventures. Many destinations are very hot this time of year so you need to pack accordingly to ensure that you have the right wardrobe in order to stay comfortable. Consider packing these items when you are heading to your summer destination.

Light Weight Tops
The wrong top can make you sweat uncontrollably especially when you are in areas with scorching temperatures. Pack light weight tops so that you won’t get as hot. Many of these types of shirts do have material that wrinkles easily. If you don’t want to iron when you are at your destination, look for shirts that are made out of fabric that is wrinkle resistant.

Knit Sweaters
No matter how hot your destination is during the day, chances are that it may be a little chilly at night. Don’t be caught off guard by this and make sure you pack a knit sweater for nights like these. The good thing about these types of sweaters is that they aren’t bulky and are easy to pack, plus they provide just enough warmth so that you will be comfortable and not too cold or too hot.

Comfortable Shorts
It’s a good idea to pair your light weight tops with comfortable shorts. You may be doing a lot of walking at your destination and you want to be able to move freely and not feel too restricted. Even if you normally wear shorts that are on the tighter side you might want to opt for shorts that are looser as they will help keep you from sweating.

Breathable Pants
In some destinations it’s more appropriate to wear pants. Even if it’s hot out, breathable pants will keep you from being too uncomfortable in scorching weather. Khaki pants tend to be the best option and they can match with practically anything.

Destination Appropriate Swimwear
If it’s hot out you may want to take a dip in the pool or the beach at your destination. This is why it’s important to pack swimwear that’s appropriate. If you want to wear something that’s revealing make sure that it’s culturally acceptable. Even if you aren’t normally a swimmer you should still pack some sort of swimwear as you may see an opportunity to take a dip in the water that you don’t want to miss out on.
