Grand Canyon National Park
A mecca for sightseeing, Arizona’s Grand Canyon National Park is also one of the top travel destinations for hiking, offering a myriad of trails ranging from easier vista point hikes near the canyon’s edge to more advanced hikes and expert-only trails going from rim to rim.  The Grand Canyon has over 50 different hiking trails, the most popular being the Bright Angel Trail, the North Kaibab Trail, and the South Kaibab Trail which is especially popular for short hikes along an exposed ridge with amazing vistas of the canyon.  For more adventurous, expert-level hikers, you can hike “rim to rim.”  Not to be attempted in a single day, the over 20-mile hike combines several trails and allows hikers to descend down to the base to the Colorado River before ascending back up to the opposite rim.  The park has several camping sites as well as museums, guided hikes, and ranger talks.  Be aware that the North Rim is open seasonally, while the South Rim is open year-round.
