Carnival Cruise Lines just signed an agreement with the government of the Bahamas to build two new cruise ports. One will be on Grand Bahama and the other including a new pier on the Bahamian Island of Little San Salvador.Construction for both ports should start by mid 2020.

Norwegian Cruise Lines will introduce plant-based water cartons to cruise ships, eliminating all plastic water bottles by January of 2020. The new cartons will debut on its new ship the Norwegian Encore this month.

Virgin Cruises 2020 will open Virgin Hotels in Miami, making South Florida tourism with air, sea, hotel and rail adventures all in one package. The president and CEO of the Greater Miami Visitors and Convention Bureau is ecstatic with the news.

Disney Cruise Line 2021 itineraries are now available. In early 2021 Disney Cruise Line’s Wonder will return  to New Orleans for a limited time with sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean, along with cruises to tropical destinations from Texas, California and Florida from late January through February of 2021. The five night voyage includes a visit to Progresso, Mexico, a new port of call on the Yucatan Peninsula with ancient Mayan ruins and hidden swimming holes. She will also return to home ports of Galveston and San Diego.

Celebrity Cruises 2020 brings the long awaited Apex after the popular Celebrity Epic cruise ship.  Like the Epic, the Celebrity Apex will feature an innovative outward-facing design and transformational accommodations that invite guests to take in the breathtaking world around them.  The Apex will begin its inaugural year cruising in Europe on 10 & 11 night Eastern Mediterranean cruises and a new 11 night Western Mediterranean cruise visiting ports in Greece, Malta & Turkey from Rome.  There will be two additional sister ships in the Edge class in 2021 and 2022.

Cunard Cruises 2020 announced they are expanding in Alaska by adding 3 additional sailings on the Queen Elizabeth cruise ship. Sailing will range from 9 to 12 nights from Victoria, and there will a 3 night cruise from SFO to Victoria on the 4th of July.

Lindblad Expedition Cruises held the official naming ceremony for its 2nd polar class ship in Poland earlier this week. The ship was named National Geographic Resolution after Ms Resolution, the favored ship of Captain James Cook. The ship will begin sailing in 2021. It’s sister ship, the National Geographic Endurance, will debut in April 2020. It has a Polar Class 5 rating signifying it can operate year round. Both ships will carry only 126 passengers guaranteeing and intimate and immersive experience.

As part of their OceaniaNEXT initiative, Oceania cruises 2020 will launch their new Aquamar Spa & Vitality Center. Inspired by guest feedback, the program will offer enhanced spa treatments, fitness classes and cuisine.

Princess Cruises 2020 has named their 6th ship in it’s Royal Class, the Discovery Princess. “Discovery Princess will take our guests on the most memorable vacations of their lifetimes, introducing them to new sights, new cultures and new experiences onboard every voyage,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises’ president. During it’s inaugural year, the Discovery Princess will have 30 cruises on 21 unique itineraries to more than 50 ports in 23 countries. The 3,660-passenger ship will be a Medallion Class ship when it launches and feature all of Princess’ customer-focused OceanMedallion technology onboard.
