Christmas Movies on TV 2019

Set your DVR’s or note your calendar…Christmas movies are already on tv and will be showing throughout the months of November & December. Of course Hallmark & Lifetime always have a ton of holidays movies playing this time of year, but here are several other places you can catch your favorite movie.

Staring Monday, November 25th through Christmas Day, AMC will be running over 60 holiday films. They will have an exclusive list of holiday favorites including Elf, The Polar Express, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Miracle on 34th Street (’94), Four Christmases, Fred Claus and Rankin-Bass Christmas classics including The Year Without a Santa Claus, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Jack Frost, and Rudolph’s Shiny New Year, and many others.

TBS will once again offer a 24 hour marathon on the movie A Christmas Story starting on Christmas Eve at 8 pm and playing every 2 hours until Christmas night.

Keep an eye out for in December for A Christmas Carol coming out on FXl It’s a 3 part special starring Guy Pearce, Stephen Graham & Charlotte Riley.

Netflix has a ton of Christmas movies as well. New holiday movies include Holiday in the Wild (11/1) with Kristin Davis & Rob Lowe; Klaus (11/8) with voice from Joan Cusack & Rashida Jones; the Knight Before Christmas (11/21) with Vanessa Hudgens, Josh Whitehouse & Emmanuelle Chriqui; Merry Happy Whatever (11/28) with Dennis Quaid & Ashley Tisdale. A Cinderella Story: A Christmas Wish (12/1)

On Disney+ check out the new movie Noelle (11/21) with Anna Kendrick, Bill Hader & Shirely MacLaine. You can also catch Santa Clause 1, 2 & 3; Santa Paws 2; Miracle on 34th Street (1947;) 12 Dates of Christmas; Beauty & the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas; Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas; I’ll Be Home for Christmas; Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas & Mickey’s Twice Upon A Christmas; The Christmas Star; The Muppet Christmas Carol; The Night Before Christmas; The Ultimate Christmas Present; ‘Twas the Night; Frozen & Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year.

Amazon Prime has a lot of options including Christmas Grace, The Man Who Invented Christmas, Christmas in the Heartland, A Christmas Tree Miracle & many more. New for 2019 is A Shoe Addict’s Christmas, Once Upon A Christmas Miracle, Marrying Father Christmas, Megan’s Christmas Miracle & The Christmas Cabin. Families can enjoy 14 Classic Christmas cartoons with 2 hours of such favorites as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jack Frost, Christmas Comes But Once a Year, The Candlemaker, Snow Foolin’, The Shanty Where Santy Claus Lives, Toy Will Be Toys, Santa’s Pocket Watch and more. Look for Christmas Cartoons: 14 Christmas Cartoon Classics.

On Food Network you can check out Cake War’s Christmas with theme includes the Nutcracker, Santa’s Workshop & How the Grinch Stole Christmas or Holiday Baking Championships.

For original oldies from the 1940s & 50’s check out TCM in December where you can catch Holiday Affair, A Christmas Carole, It Happened on 5th Avenue and more.

Not a movie, but a popular show is the lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree. This has been set for December 4th. On NBC at 8 pm performers include Tony Bennett, Diane Krall, John Legend, Martina McBride and several others hosted by NBC anchors Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker & Craig Melvin. Other NBA holiday specials include Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors & Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas.
