CO Dem Makes Major Gun Gaffe, Mocks Senior Citizen During Public Forum

On this morning’s Fox and Friends, Michelle Malkin addressed a gun-related gaffe from Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette, who in a public forum made the argument that banning high-capacity ammunition magazines would help reduce gun violence because “the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”

Steve Doocy chimed in, saying, “That is extraordinary that a member of Congress who is sponsoring the federal bill on magazine capacity […] doesn’t know that a magazine is reloadable!”

Malkin agreed, saying, “It’s appalling. It’s a gaffe a minute with all of these diarrhea of the mouth Democrats here in Colorado.”

DeGette also seemed to mock a senior citizen who posed a question to her about protecting his home. DeGette said, “The good news for you, you live in Denver. The DPD [Denver Police Department] would be there within minutes.”

She then flippantly added, “You’d probably be dead anyway if they had that kind of firepower.”

This is only the latest example of Colorado Democrats getting themselves into hot water with controversial gun controlcomments. Last month, a state senator bluntly told a rape victim that a gun would not have helped stop her attacker. Before that, a lawmaker made waves by saying whistles and call boxes would be enough to protect women on college campuses.
