(Before It's News)

A reader sent us a tip from WBEN News Radio in New York, who is reporting that the State of New York has started targeting those taking anti-anxiety medications under New York’s new Gun Control act, the NY SAFE Act of 2013. They are using mental health provisions in the act to confiscate firearms from law abiding citizens who have anxiety issues.

Jim Tresmond, of the Tresmond Law Firm, told Tom Bauerle of WBEN that he is representing two clients who have lost their ability to own firearms after New York went after them because they took anti-anxiety medications. He told WBEN, “The HIPPA act is supposed to prevent this kind of thing from happening. It’s a gross invasion of our privacy rights.”

Luckily for these people, the SAFE act should be repealed in no time.  There is a broad consensus that it is unconstitutional and wont be a law for very much longer. -Mort
