President Donald Trump addressed the nation just before Noon on Wednesday to talk about the shooting in Alexandria, Virginia where Majority Whip Steve Scalise, two Capitol Police officers, and a staff member were all shot by James T. Hodgkinson.
The President shared with the country that the gunman has died from his wounds and the well wishes of he and Melania for those injured in the attack.
“America is praying for you and America is praying for all of the victims of this terrible shooting,” the President said.
The President went on to say that he and Melania will help Scalise’s wife with “anything she needs.”
Trump then spoke highly of the brave Capitol Police officers that put an end to Hodgkinsons’ shooting spree despite being injured themselves.
