New York City 911 Freedom Rally: "Wake up America, No Mosque Here"

September 11, 2010 began with the same clear blue sky over NYC as it did on September 11, 2001. But nine years later, Americans find that they are living in a very different climate where their daily lives are affected by the threats from Islamic terrorists. This day, 9/11, will always be remembered as the day almost 3,000 people lost their lives in the name of freedom; and Americans woke up to the hatred and violence of Islamic fanaticism.  

This 9/11 began early in the ‘Pit at Ground Zero’ just as it has for the past eight years. However, on this ninth year the 9/11 families have been faced with the construction of an Islamic mosque to be located within the hallowed grounds of the World Trade Center. Many of them have publicly shared their feelings about the insensitivity of building an Islamic Community Center there and have pleaded to have its location changed.  But, to no avail.

The fact is, that after Iman Feisal Abdul Rauf returned from his US sponsored trip to the Middle East, he has appeared to be even more hard line on the issue. He now states that they will not, and should not, move the mosque. With this in mind, the 3:00 rally to protest this Mosque got really fired up.

In honor and support of the victims and their families, tens of thousands of people from around the globe gathered in the warm sun and created a sea of American flags. The photos of the red, white and blue should fill the global media networks to demonstrate the spirit of the American people. This would truly be a stark contrast to the angry, hateful, violent mobs that have been recently gathering in several Muslim nations in response to a threat to burn the Koran in the US.

Pamela Geller and Robert Spenser of the organization ‘Stop Islamization of America (SIOA), hosted this amazing ‘Freedom Rally’ with more than a dozen guest speakers who ignited the audience. However, there were some highlights that must be noted to convey the message of the rally.

Geert Wilders, the Dutch Parliamentarian freedom fighter and leader of the third leading political party in the Netherlands, Party for Freedom, spoke passionately about “drawing the line against intolerance. This mosque is a provocation and a humiliation.” He continued to say that “What is happening in NY is being seen and heard around the world and New York should not become ‘New Mecca…we are a tolerant people, but we will not tolerate intolerance!” He led the mass of people in the chant that was heard throughout the 2 hours…”No Mosque Here.”

Nationally syndicated talk host Mike Gallagher stood in front of the podium and proudly declared to the massive audience: “This is the face of America.” Gallagher was followed by Ilario Pantano, a former US Marine Corps officer and Deputy Sheriff now running for Congress in NC’s 7^th District, who emotionally expressed that “Americans must not forget, but they do. That they must not get complacent. This fight is just the beginning… We have to be warriors.”

Speaking of warriors, Sam Khoshbatan an Iranian activist who is fighting against Ahmadenijad, made his plea for the US to stand with the Iranians who what peace and who need Americans to stand with them to end the tyranny of their Iranian leaders. Another warrior, Joseph Nasrallah, human rights activist who left Egypt to escape persecution and possible death, was the most emotional speaker of the day. The pain in his voice was quite apparent as he showed a picture of a relative that had been killed by Muslims and the fear in his voice when he thought that Muslims with their ‘Sharia Laws’ could even have a chance of conquering America. He cried: “If not in America, where then can I go for freedom?” His message: ‘Wake up America, do not submit.”

Pamela and Robert ended this rally promising the crowd what they came there to hear: “We will not give up. We have and will continue to strengthen our resolve.” God bless you guys, American needs you to stay safe and continue in your fight to stop Islamization of America before it is too late.
