Tehran Pro-Egypt and Tunisia Rally Set to Erupt

Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty is reporting that Iran government leaders are trying to prevent their citizens from mobilizing a rally today in support of  Egypt and Tunisia’s ‘revolution’ and against President Mahmud Ahmadinejad’s regime by sending scores of security forces to the capitol’s streets and blocking two of the opposition leaders from leaving their homes. The forces are cutting telephone lines, banning the rally or any marches. Meanwhile, hundreds, maybe thousands, are beginning to gather in Tehran chanting “death to the dictator.”

Last year when the ‘green movement’ of democratic loving Iranians rose up and was squashed by the leadership, President Obama remained silent. As much blood was shed in Tehran, Americans witnessed a lost opportunity to show support for the Iranians to rally for a regime change. Here’s hoping President Obama will not make the same mistake twice.
