Crime, Terror, and War without Conventional Weapons

We might as well get used to it. Criminals, terrorists, and hostile warriors will be around for a long time. Terrorists have become the worst they could ever be with wanton killings of innocent civilians … men, women, children, the infirm, young, and old. They do not discriminate against gender, politics, religion, rich, poor, educated, ignorant, sexual orientation, and race. They will kill anyone with bullets, bombs, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), beheadings, incineration, torture, rape, dismemberment, decapitation, and filth. Now, they even use cyber threats.

They will kill anyone who does not believe as they do. They will kill all heathens, unbelievers, hypocrites, infidels, perverts, Americans, Westerners, Christians, and Jews. All they desire is world domination, a one-religion world, and the demise of what they call The Great Satan (or the United States of America). Their desire is to establish a caliphate with Osama bin Laden as the chief Caliphate and leader of the world. Terrorists do not even care about dying. They believe that their god, Allah, will reward them with 72 virgins if they died for their cause. How pathetic can some people become?

Pure and simple … terrorists are criminals. They are motivated by their twisted view of Utopia. They feel that their God gives them the right to kill anyone and everyone. Their twisted philosophy, ideology, and religion guide their every action. They set themselves up as judge, jury, and executioner of all those who oppose them. They do not believe in civil rights. They do not believe in human rights and human dignity. They despise the Constitution of the United States and the American Bill of Rights. All they understand is power, threat, fear, intimidation, death, mutilation, coercion, and dominance. They care for nobody except themselves. What a selfish bunch of people … if you can call them people. They are worse than animals. They are savages and throwbacks from the Dark Ages. They are evil as evil can be. They are motivated by the Devil.

On the other hand, criminals want to live. They want to enjoy the spoils of their crimes. Cybercriminals are no different. They do not want to destroy everything so they won’t receive the benefits of their illegal efforts. Likewise, hostile nations want to conquer the United States and put us in bondage. They want to receive the spoils of war to enjoy. Therefore, criminals and hostile nations and their warriors are not as vicious and evil as are the terrorists of the world. However, we must prepare for and protect our country against criminals and hostile warriors just as we do against terrorists.

Cyberwarfare in the new battlefield of cyberspace presents new threats and challenges for us. All of these threats and challenges will be in addition to the other threats challenges these perpetrators have fought us with in the past. We just need to be prepared for them, for when we are prepared, we shall not fear.
