Over 300,000 People Will Be Without Power Across Parts Of Georgia and South Carolina With Ice Storm On Wednesday
(TheWeatherSpace.com) – An Ice Storm starting overnight tonight and going into Wednesday promises to be the worst ice storm across Georgia and South Carolina in nearly 15 years and TWS ice Storm Warnings are in place.

Issued yesterday, my Ice Storm Warning clearly outlined the worst areas in the yellow-shade (in graphic above). This ice storm warning is going to bring the worst ice storm in nearly 15 years to Georgia and South Carolina, adding up to over 1-2″ of ice in a large area. This starts overnight tonight, maximizes on Wednesday morning and goes through the day. Over 300,000 may be without power and those numbers may go up, especially in the yellow-outlined zone I am forecasting for.

Discussion: A complex storm pattern will start the ice storm across LA/MS/AL this evening into the overnight and Tuesday morning. A small area of Southern NC will also see it. A break over the day on Tuesday and then the second more power Ice Storm hits the same areas across LA/MS/ overnight Tuesday with less across Alabama, where it would be more of a snow event. As the surface low lifts, the Ice Storm starts across the GA section as well by lat Tuesday night, eastward to South Carolina, with NC coming in by Wednesday and lasting all day.
This is an extremely dangerous event and many will lose power! You need to be prepared for this now.
