Hurricane Threatens Gulf States Next Week

Weather Alert Central.com – Guidance is suggesting a Major Hurricane into the Gulf of Mexico by next week, which is during the time-frame Hurricane Katrina hit.  All residents on the Gulf Coast need to keep an eye on this system as the guidance is suggesting a major event coming.

Currently, guidance has this in the Central to Eastern Gulf.  The track is very similar to Katrina’s landfall and temperatures are in the upper 80s for water temps across the entire Gulf of Mexico area.  This has a lot of fuel if it comes into that area.

A ridge of high pressure will park east of the Carolinas, which means that the storm should maintain a west-northeast track through the Caribbean Islands and eject into the Gulf of Mexico.  From there … we will know the landfall point.  Right now it is too far away, but residents in the Gulf States need to pay attention to further updates on this system.

Confidence is gaining speed at the moment because the upper pattern is favoring a Gulf of Mexico hurricane.
