Fall Outlook 2014! Hurricane Wildcards, El Nino Update, Snow in Sept? Fall Foliage Report & Heating costs

Fall is just about here and many are wondering since we did not have a real summer in parts of the U.S. will we get an early start on the colder weather and early snow? The answer is yes and no. We do see some wild swings in weather and temps in September and October but overall most of the U.S. is not going to get an early season snowfall. We do feel the wildcard places for snow in late September would be the Dakotas, Northern Minnesota and the UP of Michgan.

If you recall some of the Great Lakes took until Memorial Day weekend to get rid of ice on the lakes and this had an influence on the Great Lakes and Midwest this past summer. This Fall will bring plenty of variables to watch including:

–Late season tropical push in the Atlantic and Gulf

–Early Snow in the Upper Midwest

–El Nino Cometh by the Fall

–Bursts of Cold air in the Rockies & Plains

–Prolonged Monsoon in the Southwest
