Hurricane Force Winds To Hit Pacific Northwest on Saturday

A strong storm system is slated to impact the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, bringing heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and maybe even another tornado chance.

The area has been hit by numerous storm systems this week, but another one is on the way.  A storm system southwest of Oregon will move northeastward over the next 12-18 hours and impact the Pacific Northwest.  Latest satellite images show a broad comma-shaped system, indicating a strengthening surface low in the area.  The storm will bring a round of gusty winds, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and maybe severe weather to Northern California, Oregon, and Washington.

Depending exactly where this impacts will depends on everything stated.  However, there is a good chance that TFW alerts may be needed in some parts of the red-shaded zone.

50 mph wind gusts are possible in the Willamette Valley, with averages of 30-50 mph from there, Portland, and Seattle Washington.  The windiest metro zones will be the Willamette Valley cities.  Southwest Oregon will receive the brunt, with hurricane wind speeds 73+ possible there.
