Deborah, coming from you this is gossip, not news…..

      • wrebi

Deborah, I’m beginning to think you are part of the problem by playing the race against race card. The problem in Ferguson is the militarization of the police and the way the are now using “fear for my life” as justification to shoot anybody. Just like TombRaider said, from you this is gossip. You should be writing for the National Enquirer so everyone would know it’s garbage.

        • Deborah Dupre

          Wrebi: Thank you for sharing.
Glad most people disagree with you, my dear.

      • Deborah Dupre

I guess you consider this gossip, too:
Instead of prosecuting the police, the governor ordered a state of emergency and curfew of 12 midnight to 5 a.m..
Exactly what part of the above article is “gossip.” The parts not being reported on your 6:00 news program?

I am horrified to see the police act this way. Oops, I didn’t see that. Police have protected me for many years. I do think they have more equipment than is justified but what are they to do if they are to control mobs that have no respect for the law. It would appear that Deborah Dupre is just making things up as she goes along. I have no doubt that I will receive negative comments concerning this but all cops are not bad and I resent someone trying to force me into a position. This group, that mostly came from out-of-state, have never shown that they have the ability to refrain from illegal activity. They will do and say anything that their handlers tell them to do.

      • paul brown

You’re swallowing the Kool Aid. Of course there are good cops, I’m related to one and have known others. I’ve been lucky enough not to have come across any bad ones, and hope my luck holds. No one is saying they’re all bad.

As for outside agitators, that’s an old ruse used by politicians and law enforcement, almost always untrue (except examples like civil rights workers in the South in the 60s, do you blame them for the racist violence that happened then?

What handlers? Good old-fashioned commies? Come on. Maybe you’re referring to the CCR? If so, you obviously aren’t interested in racial justice.

        • Deborah Dupre

Mr. Brown – you say “As for outside agitators, that’s an old ruse used by politicians and law enforcement, almost always untrue (except examples like civil rights workers in the South in the 60s.” With all due respect – this is untrue. Activists all over the country have spotted and sometimes called out agents working against them, plants there to disrupt, discredit – and try to get them to commit criminal acts. I’ll go hunting for examples and provide them if you like. I wrote an article several years ago about this.

      • Deborah Dupre

gsummit: You calim, “It would appear that Deborah Dupre is just making things up as she goes along.” ??
How about providing a real example instead of simply a generalized personal attack on the messenger? That’s such an old dirty trick tactic in attempt to discredit, it’s kind of pitiful, my friend.
        Thank you very much.
        Cheerio.

        • gsummit

If you look at the other comments you’ll see that I’m not the only one that believes that you are muckraker. My attack should not be seen as “generalized.” They’re messengers and they’re storytellers. If you sit at home and only report that which you find on the internet then you are a teller of stories. Why don’t you back up your claims with evidence? Or would you consider that to be “an old dirty trick?”

        • ixnay00

a real example is the fact the many witnesses have come forward saying that the cop was justified in shooting the kid and suffered a head fracture before he fired his weapon and that the kid was charging him and he had no choice. yet everyone in that town is still using the same info to instigate more rioting. so you either haven’t been keeping up on the story or your one of the reporters that are trying to keep the story going instead of letting the law handle it.

      • valhalla

True that all cops are not bad, but name the last time a good cop spoke out against a bad cop or tha system? Unfortunately i’m afraid the system is bad. Cops look at their organization as an entity. One they live for and protect. They are not there to protect citizens as the primary directive, only to uphold the system at all costs and justify their existance.
Montreal police had to admit they had agent provacatuers at the G8 in the early 2000′s, and Toronto had them at G20 in 2008.
Wish I saw the article that hasmbrought out so many opinions.

    • Shavager

I note that Dupre fails to mention that BLACK MOB VIOLENCE has exploded all over America under Obama administration and Eric Holder with over 100+ acts of violence that have taken place from Boston to California, Washington state to Florida and all down the east coast beaches of America. She fails to mention the “knockout” games where BLACKS target elderly whites or women in a vicious violent game of assault with intentions of “knocking out” the victims, causing at least 6 DEATHS nationwide. She fails to recognize that LAWLESSNESS has got the green light from a LAWLESS president and attorney general who have NO RESPECT for the U.S. Constitution or the oath of office they took to serve. I don’t have as much a problem with the Ferguson police and state police tactics with the military vehicles as I do with the daily (nearly 100 per day across America) SWAT RAIDS on private homes in the middle of the night that is costing American lives and many without any real evidence of criminal acts. Americans should REFUSE to allow SWAT RAIDS in the middle of the night, we are a NATION OF LAWS–the police should be required to respect the LAW and provide the warrant as it used to be in this country instead of middle of night raids and gunning down citizens–many who were targeted by mistake of location or identity. IF law enforcement is that afraid of the public, they should get another job.

      • paul brown

The great majority of those SWAT raids are against blacks. The police response in Ferguson was completely out of line. Unarmed, hands up, “don’t shoot.” About to go to college. Peaceful protests met with police violence. Police lies, reporters and human rights workers attacked by police. All documented by highly reliable sources. What part of all that don’t you get? When will you get it?

Now who is spreading falsehoods? Sane people trust Dupre a lot more than they do you knuckle-draggers.

      • Deborah Dupre

Shavager, Looks like the programming has done a number on you, my friend. Want to see some facts for a change? Hope so. Here we go again:

Using hateful disinformation is a choice, my friend, one that does the opposite of fostering non-violence – that surely you’d really like to see, right? But instead, the racist comments you make are not based on actual research or even government stats. Putting aside crime reporting limitations, let’s you and me just look at a few related facts, OK, Shavager?

        1. A 2011 study examined racial disparities in violent crime and incarceration from 1980 and 2008. The researchers found little difference between black and white violent offending. (See: Steffensmeier, D.; Feldmeyer, B.; Harris, C. T.; Ulmer, J. T. (2011). “Reassessing Trends in Black Violent Crime, 1980-2008: Sorting Out the “Hispanic Effect” in Uniform Crime Reports Arrests, National Crime Victimization Survey Offender Estimates, and U.s. Prisoner Counts*”. Criminology 49: 197–251)

        2. African American and Hispanic defendants are charged with and convicted of crimes requiring mandatory minimum sentences far more often per capita than Whites or Asian Americans, causing large racial disparities in incarceration rates. A 2012 study showed Hispanics and Blacks receive considerably longer sentences for the same or lesser offenses on average than white offenders with equal or greater criminal records. (“The Imprisonment Penalty for Young Black and Hispanic Males”. Jrc.sagepub.com. 2011-05-03. Retrieved 2013-08-15.)

        3. Incarceration rate of black males in 2012 was over 6 times higher than that of white males: 4,749 per 100,000 US residents.

        4. From 1980 t0 2008, Blacks accounted for 52.5% of homicide offenders and whites 45.3%, according to the US Dept of Justice.

        5. 84% of white homicide victims were murdered by whites. 93% of black victims were murdered by blacks.

        6. in 2010, 58% of hate crime offenders were Latino or white while only 18% of offenders were black (8.9% were of individuals of multiple races and 1% of offenders were Native American) according to Federal Bureau of Investigation Uniform Crime Report database.

        7. Among hate crime offenses motivated by race, 70% were composed of anti-black bias. 17.7% were of anti-white bias.

Now tell me who needs to face reality. Really, it isn’t too difficult and you’ll actually feel better when you get it. Know why? Because hate is not healthy for our bodies or spirits.

Emotions have a considerable effect on physical health of people: People harboring hatred either at self or others face increased stress that weakens the body and makes it far more susceptible to all kinds of diseases.

People with hatred toward ethnic groups or groups such as gays that linger for years can develop psychological problems that lead to heinous acts towards others.

Historically, hate’s been a main reason for wars. Hate speech fostered by Hitler and the Nazi Party against Jews in the 1930s Germany later led to the Holocaust. But even if you don’t believe that, unless you really thrive on violence, let’s try to stop the hate – even if just for the sake of your health, not world peace.

        • Freewilloffering

I think what some of these people are saying is that what does all this racial stuff have to do with this specific situation where the facts are still being uncovered?

I don’t dispute any of your above facts but they have nothing to do with the specific Ferguson guilt or innocence of either party?

    • kodster

Screw ‘em! This organization is no better than the communist-filled ACLU, or the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which is also a communist organization. The clues are “OccupyConcordCA”… “social change”… even their website couches it in their description of their organization. They are anarchists, and they don’t belong there, agitating the situation. This group is part of Eric Holder’s army. They got what they deserved, and that is getting tear-gassed, and threatened.

      • paul brown

Aha, the old commies fear-mongering. Thank you for coming in on cue.

    • Baldy

Maybe this Brown character was more vicious then we know.

      • Deborah Dupre

Yeah – kinda like they said about Martin Luther King Jr? Give us a break. It’s just a likely he was a peacenik who really cared about people. That’s who are being targeted the worst in the US these days.

        • tymewalker

If he was a “peacenik” & cared about anybody but his self , he wouldn’t have stolen from the store & bullied the shopkeeper. yes, the cop was completely wrong in his use of force, but something has to be done with BOTH sides. i’m all for peaceful protests, but they can’t leave it at just that, they have to burn & loot, making them all look like a bunch of crazed animals. THAT IS NOT THE WAY TO GET A POINT ACROSS. & i’m sick to death of hearing about how cops target blacks over whites. i don’t know statistics, but whites, especially teenagers get the same treatment from cops, ANY cops, black, white or purple.

      • paul brown

What we do know without any doubt is that these police, and many others, are more vicious than many Americans seem to realize.

    • MKNOXNBK

The militarization of police is going on all over the USSA. Another problem is, instead of them just protesting, they had to go ahead and loot and screw up their own neighborhood instead of storming city hall and police stations. Pulling the race card isn’t helping the situation either.

      • paul brown

They were just protesting until they were attacked. They weren’t hardened, disciplined like the Freedom Riders or King’s followers in the South during the civil rights movement, they were enraged people who had no other outlet. They shouldn’t have done it, of course.

        • freedixie

The looting and rioting came before any teargas did. These are animals who are born to riot over anything. As far as King’s “peaceful” marches, I was alive then and remember his riots. It was all ginned up by outside agitators. Everyone has a right to protest anything they think is wrong or unjust. These animals in MO are protesting the killing of a 300 lb. thug who was charging at a police officer, according to eyewitness accounts. If a 300 lb. anything is charging at me, the only reason I would not shoot is because I couldn’t get my gun out quick enough. This thug got what he deserved. Another piece of trash off the streets. On the other hand, I am against the militarizing of the local police departments all over this country. That only pushes us towards a police state, which we are rapidly becoming.

    • Freewilloffering

This is a big psyop programming /justification game to create a race war.
Both Blacks and whites are taking the bait on this nonesense.
This is a Trayvon redux…remember how Trayvon was portrayed as a “nice little kid”
by the media and then it took a week to find out that he was beating Zimmerman up on the ground?

Only facts matter: St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter tweeted out last night that a dozen local witnesses confirmed Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson’s version of the Brown shooting story.

      Here is the script:

1-Cops are getting worse across USA with Militarization

2-After white cop /black incident Media and Liberals jump to unconfirmed rhetoric where the black kid shot is a saint and martyr.

3-Media whips up everyone to frenzy

      4-Blacks riot

5-The facts come out much later’

6-Blacks and whites move towards a race war.

Bottom Line: Anyone eulogizing anyone with out facts is an accomplice in all this…….
helping to justify a 3rd world police state for their masters.

      • Deborah Dupre

Ask anyone in the community what will bring peace, and they will tell you:
Indict Darren Wilson for the murder of Mike Brown.

Police and media are the ones who need to be scrutinized.

Say any other man shoots an unarmed youth with hands in the air.
The man who did the shooting is known.
Would he be investigated? Would his picture be in the papers? Would his profile be turned inside out?
        Of course.

Not in this case, though – just like not in the cases of many, many other similar police abuse cases.
In these cases, the victim is demonized as though it’s OK for a police to shoot an unarmed youth in the head twice and at least 4 other times.

        • Freewilloffering

Ask anyone in the community what will bring peace, and they will tell you:
Indict Darren Wilson for the murder of Mike Brown.”

Above is where you are going off the rails…its not about what the “Community thinks”
          its about facts.

Jump to a defense and conclusions based on what the “Community” (whoever that is) says is called Mob rule not justice or rule of law? This is about a specific incident that is to be properly adjudicated …

    • Conservative Freethinker

Funny they can put the National Guard in a town but not the border

      • CrowPie

Funny you bring that up…….I was watching Scott Pelly (I believe?) and saw a segment on the soaring numbers of un-investigated shootings ……all by Border Patrol Agents……some actually “through the fence”……all on UN-ARMED victims.

      • paul brown

Let’s not put them either place.

      • paul brown

Gee, I didn’t know there was such a thing as a conservative freethinker.

    • YouGuysAreIdiots

You are a fraud! I was there. You idiots from afar spreading your fear porn bs are disgusting.

      • Deborah Dupre

Thank you for sharing and showing everyone how easy it is to play the dirty trick: discredit the messenger. It’s one of the main tactics used by bullies, including paid agents. You do it so well!

This is probably viewed as fraudulent, too: A deep sentiment of anger that goes beyond the criminal murder of Mike Brown exists. It’s this thing called deep-seated racism – where Black youth are picked up for being Black, in towns similar to others surrounding St. Louis coast to coast. They are enclaves that are mainly Black ruled by mainly white police.

Young Mike Brown’s murder was the final straw.
His mother is correct: There can be no peace without justice.

      • Deborah Dupre

Thank you You Guyes – Here’s something just for you – with gratitude for your comment! http://www.upworthy.com/a-song-to-play-every-time-you-see-a-sexist-racist-or-homophobic-comment-online?c=reccon1

    • Av Fox

What a load of BS. I’m from there, I’m witnessing this crap. I can tell you there’s alot the media ISN’T reporting, but your garbage isn’t it. You don’t seriously call yourself a journalist do you? Don’t quit your day job, honey.

      • Miriams Musings

        Expound, please!

    • WCET.FM

Gas children ? who the hell brings children to a protest that become violent every night ? the parents should be arrested.

      • Deborah Dupre

Who said those children or their parents were protesting?
There are blockades up in so many places, it’s often difficult for some people to get from one place to another, such as to a store and home again, according to front line reporters.

Haven’t you read about cars having windows shattered from police weapons while people inside were driving? Of course, those are the types of abuses mainstream is not reporting.

    • The Real Deal

The lines between the military and the police are purposely being blurred to usher in a police state against the free thinking public. They don’t like informed, critically thinking persons, they want obedient slaves. They are wiping out the middle class and turning America into a third world banana republic in hopes that we lose our identity.

There is no such thing as justice as anyone can plainly see. They want you to understand this so that we come to a point of despair and just throw our hands up…JUST LIKE YOU SEE THEM DOING IN FERGUSON! This is a psyop. This is to get you to stand down against government tyranny, and except your role as a debt slave.

      • The Real Deal

        *accept*, sorry.

      • Deborah Dupre

Sound and sobering analysis. Thank you, The Real.

      • Deborah Dupre

Psyop to get people to stand down or to support civil unrest?

    • Jack

You could try submitting it with a different headline.

    • angel.bethany

It concerns me that this article was deleted. We should make up our own minds if it is garbage or not. Otherwise this is what mainstream media does.

I do remember when occupy meetings were going on there was a blackout of info. I also saw police dressed up as protesters destroying property. They were caught red handed but never charged of course. Then they got smart and covered their faces. Definitely not all cops are bad. Some actually want to protect us. Others seem like hired thugs like blackwatch. Maybe I have the name wrong, but their is a definite trend going on that needs to stop. The military should not be turning on its own citizens. This all started with the patriot act. Maybe that is what we should change. I
