Pittsburgh Cops Tased Man While He Was Praying For His Dead Son In ER: Lawsuit (Video)

(N.Morgan) This is another case of cops on steroids and acting like over zealous brutes. When I saw this heartbreaking story on my local news, it again reminds us just how low law enforcement in this country has sunk. This man was clearly grieving and the police had no right to taze him or even disturb him in his last moments with his son. His son, Mileek, who was killed while attempting to stop a fight. The police claim the man, Rev. Earl Baldwin, was prohibiting the young man from medical care, but it is clear, that Mileek Grissom is already dead. Another note I’d like to add, the man who was tazed is a well known and liked pastor in the area.

Here’s what went down:

The suit accuses an officer of unlawfully using his Taser against Rev. Earl Baldwin Jr. on June 24, 2012. Baldwin said that at the time, he was in the emergency room of UPMC Mercy Hospital attempting to pray for his stepson, 23-year-old Mileek Grissom. Grissom was shot and killed that day while reportedly trying to break up a fight. “I needed to tell him his family was going to be OK,” Baldwin told WPXI this week. “I was going to do everything I could to make sure they were OK.” Footage of the incident shows police restraining a visibly upset Baldwin for a few seconds before another officer pulls out his Taser and uses it on him. Grissom’s mother, Tori Baldwin, was stopped by authorities and not allowed to enter the hospital.

Police have not commented on the lawsuit, but hospital officials have said that Earl Baldwin was interfering with attempts to revive Grissom. “Clearly this was a stressful situation and a tragic loss for this family,” the hospital said in a statement. “However, the allegations about the circumstances are inaccurate.” But Baldwin argues that police slid Grissom’s hospital bed away before restraining him. “Watch the video,” his attorney, Joel Sassone, was quoted as saying. “Not only was the child not being treated, the child was dead.”

Just one more reason… we need to change laws to make it legal to for good citizens to arm themselves with small DEFENSIVE weaponary of any kind. Only PRO-ACTIVE use to initiate harm, rob, molest or harm another person with said weapons would be ILLEGAL. Criminals & Cops are beating the H3ll of out good law abiding folks like this Pastor & Son, any more.
Make DEFENSIVE WEAPONRY LEGAL… or people will do it anyway. And the way our horrible laws allow criminals to sue & WIN against their victims who fight back… folks won’t see much point leaving criminals to survive… let alone cooperate with law enforcement. Why? Anymore, cops have grown lazy. They are out to find somebody to name & blame. This particular BAG-n-TAG patrol really have to taser somebody GRIEVING? NOPE… All those cops were slowly helping to move him… but one got impatient and tried to speed it up. By tasing him? -Right.
Though it doesn’t matter, I am white. But I am color-blind when it comes to Blacks or Whites… both are God’s people. What happened to this man saying good-bye to his son is BEYOND EXCUSE or reason… thus, not comments from the police force. WHAT CAN THEY POSSIBLY SAY TO JUSTIFY SUCH BEHAVIOR?

Our government uses images of pregnant women and children for target practice. The churches, government, entertianment and secret clubs have all been tied to pedophile torture and child sacrifice.

Why do people live here and act surprised?

We are the worst nation on earth. Because no one else pretends as much as we do.

Tasers have just become much too easy a solution to solving confrontational problems. When cops should use psychology or good sense to diffuse a situation, they pull a taser instead and get it over with quick and easy. Perhaps it has something to do as well, with the fact that they have an upper IQ limit for hiring policemen now. Hate to have to spend time working with people in a civil manner, just tase them, get it over, and go to the donut shop.
