As for this “our father” prayer, which we know as the “Avinu prayer”, and growing up both as a Hebrew kid and in public school I still had no issue with it, nor should any Hebrew person, since it was provided by a Hebrew scholar in the first place, although we know it in its original Paleo Hebrew form which is far better. If the Jewish kids in your area felt left out, it is because they were not taught correctly, as most orthodox Jews would of course stay away from this prayer because Yehshua said it. However the prayer itself is 100% Hebrew through and through, it is all ancient Hebrew thought and understanding, and I personally believe it to be quite a powerful prayer when one truly understands what it refers to and how it was originally given.
