Feds Abandoning AR15 Ammo Ban

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

(N.Morgan) In a victory for gun owners and AR15 ammo lovers across the country, the Feds have decided to abandon their plans for pushing a ban against the AR15 popular ammunition.

This decision is a victory for gun enthusiasts everywhere.

According to ABC News: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says the agency received more than 80,000 public comments on the proposal to outlaw some types of 5.56 mm rounds, or .223 caliber.

The agency says the comments were overwhelmingly critical of the proposal.

Hundreds of lawmakers, including 52 U.S. senators, also objected.

The ATF had proposed banning some types of ammunition used in the popular AR-15-style rifles that could penetrate a police officer’s protective vest if fired from a handgun.

Armor-piercing handgun ammunition has been banned since 1986 as a way to protect police officers under the federal Law Enforcement Officers Protection Act.

Yeah. Not one cop killed by one in our history.

But DO YOU Know what to physically do once Martial Law starts TO SAVE YOUR LIFE? This is the time for its citizens to regain full control of our gov, and this gives tactics how to stop your Fed and State gov from their illegal laws over you. If you refuse to do anything, you are telling them that their laws are great, and that you are willing to have your children live under them. But ifyou love freedom, your Ground Zero is your very own smalltown USA. You need to kick your local police from their department because they are the Fed’s and State’s #1 law enforcers, whos one and only job is to contain you with weapons pointed to your head. But if you stop them, you wil be free from the illegal laws, and your community will be free for its citizens to run it. Read what to do in your very own city for freedoms sake.

    • the other

NO THEY ARE NOT. ACTUALLY DO A LITTLE RESEARCH BEFORE POSTING GARBAGE

      • JKnTX

Yes they are, and you might try that yourself.
I know those folks (BATFE) very well, having delt with them in the course of the firearms business some 4 decades now.
If they do as they just did, it is their version of acknowledging they don’t have a leg to stand on without actually admitting it.
If they were going to try and implement this ridiculous directive, they would not have agreed to revise the 2015 handbook to include the M855 exemption that has been there years now previously.
Please stop the all caps typing also, it just makes you look juvenile.

      Totally obvious money making scheme.
Step #1 Buy stock in ammunition manufacturer.
Step #2 Threaten to ban that very same manufacturers primary product.
Step #3 Reap huge profit during panic buy out of same said ammo.
Step #4 Drop the subject for now. Until the next time you need a huge cash infusion.

They do it with credit cards, banking, telephone, internet, electricity, gas, everything.
How do you think members of congress become millionaires? Good investment strategy? ROFL

      • JKnTX

        Not quite.
Almost of the M855/SS109 ball ammo comes from goobernment owned arsenals like SL here, and many others overseas. Uncle would be competing against himself- doesn’t wash. They don’t sell civilian direct in any case.
NATO is trying to get it’s members to switch over to a copper/steel tip round without the lead core (environment friendly you know!), which would leave huge stocks of unfired rounds that have to go somewhere- one place is the Amerikan civilian market as it has always been a surplus ammo dump- decades upon decades now.
Putting the surplus M855 in here is going to drive down the price of all 5.56mm for quite a while- not as much sales that generate a tax revenue as the sales of new ammo do. This has many facets, but protecting police or reducing “crime” isn’t one of them.

        • JKnTX

Whoopsie!, Forgot the “all” after Almost. Belgians thought the M-193 55grain USA issue (Vietnam as well as others) was “inhumane” so they came up with the SS109 (USA M855) round as NATO standard.
It has a steel “penetrator” tip, but it is still full jacketed and won’t (usually) tumble or explode on contact with a human body- it just arrows on through. Used a lot in the M-249 SAW to give the gunners greater range against the targets they are likely to encounter in lending fire support to the squad.
Good old M-193 just blows a nice bloody hole.

      Hello Angle#3 (preliminary),

Charlie here. This should not be a celebration at all. The ATF is NOT suppose to ban bullets but encourage Americans to stockpile and should be even paying for it. It is in the Constitution believe it or not!

Instead of celebrating you should hold your head high and scorn them for trying to get you to commit TREASON with them, against YOU of all things!

You should threaten them with fines and jail sentences if they ever DARE to get you to commit TREASON with them. HOW DARE THEY!!!

      Signed,

Charlie (disgusted, believe it or doughnot)

    • NWO for Dummies.

I just heard Obama say he would veto those 52 senators who are against this ban. Nice story but…………..truth be told.

      • JKnTX

Ahem, this has nothing to do with a veto. The law is already on the books since 1986 and he is sworn to abide by and obey the Constitution and all laws passed by Congress- period.
He can’t do a damned thing, except whine and snivel about not getting his way.

      • NWO for Dummies.

Oh of course. The constitution.

The constitution is nothing unless it is backed by the rule of law. Do you see any rule of law since say…let me see…911 ???????
