Mysterious Land Pops Up Near El Paso On Google Maps (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

(N.Morgan) Google maps has become synonymous with mysterious captures and strange terrain appearing seemingly out of nowhere.

In this latest capture, new terrain has appeared near El Paso Texas.

Google Maps just updated their satellite view of the El Paso region, and an unknown area has popped up for the first time.

It’s located in New Mexico, about 14 miles from the El Paso city limits.

The land appears to be half oval shaped with several buildings, a lookout tower, helipad, cars, and even a couple of lakes.

At first glance, the area appears to be an extension of McGregor Range of Fort Bliss, however government records show otherwise.

Is this possibly a new military installation of some sort or another secret barracks for the Elite?

Good catch N. Morgan. I do not have g-earth, only maps. I was looking on maps and saw that US-54 goes there. When I put myself there it says it’s Otero County Processing Center. Then I looked that up and it says it is an ICE immigration detention facility. I HIGHLY doubt that. I do NOT see anything going on there, do you? No cars or anything. Makes one wonder for sure. A new FUN CAMP?

I got that wrong. The facility does have cars, it is on the opposite side of the road. Out there on the east side, there is a small town even. For the builders? Part of mil base?

Seeing as McGregor Range Rd leads to it, and it’s shaped and laid out like a shooting range, I bet that’s what it is. The layout is typical of a large shooting range; high terrain behind the individual galleries, none of them pointing at another in case of stray rounds, etc. Of course much more grandiose than your typical outdoor municipal range. And I expect they’re shooting bigger things than just M16s.

The lakes are interesting. El Paso has recently built a large water desalinization plant to provide for an expanded Ft. Bliss and the surrounding population. Maybe they have a connection with that.

weird title, no land has popped up, a mysterious facility perhaps

      Hello Angle#3 (prelim),

Charlie here. Could it be a new doughnut factory? (Fingers crossed) Let’s hope! We could use some excitement down there. I think I’m gonna call it Jade Helm Doughnuts.

Those aren’t lakes, that is a large water treatment facility.

We saw that whole compound about 5 years ago in person while it was being built, and didn’t think much of it at the time (a few of us ride out in the desert near there, and go by it frequently). I came home after first seeing it, looked it up on Google to see how big it was, not very impressive at the time though. I didn’t think much of it, until I tried to look it up a couple of years ago, and THE WHOLE THING WAS GONE! It didn’t show on Google satellite at all. When that happened, I figured it was related to Ft. Bliss and didn’t think about it again. Thought maybe we’d go ATV trip near there again one day, and see what we could see.

The water treatment facility puts a whole other twist on the thing. That implies sustained long-term domicile facilities there for a sufficient number of people that local El Paso, etc. can’t accommodate it.

That makes me believe it to be another ICE-DHS detainment compound or FEMA structure instead (hidden in association to other Ft. Bliss real assets).

Someone said ‘rifle range’, but in reality, an internment facility would also be ‘amphitheater-shaped’ so all could ‘watch the big screens’ at the focal point, too.

They do mining in that area too, you can see explosions from the highway leading into El Paso from the west. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was that.

Also, if it was anything secret or nefarious, it wouldn’t be on Google Maps. People should really stop trying to blow the lid off the worlds paranormal and unexplained phenomenon, using a censored, hand crafted program. Every image on there is stitched together manually. So the chances of you seeing something “they” don’t want you to see are slim to none.

Yeah, but a lot of things hit Google Earth, stay for a short time (almost like they were posting them, then scanning and editing them for content, then removing the ones that were sensitive), only to be removed shortly after.

I’ve seen SEVERAL features on the Mexico border do this very thing. They’re there, they show up for a few months, then poof, they’re no longer on the satellite images. If I didn’t belong to a small riding club (ATV and some prospecting) I would never have seen these features. You go out riding, take a few photos, mark the site (using your GPS coordinates), then come home to see a ‘sat pic’ of what you really saw out there in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes, you get to see amazing things doing this. Sometimes, what you see is only one pixel of a much larger feature. Other times, you see something being built in the middle of NOWHERE, that if you know about it, you can look it up in a few months and see what it turned out to be.

This is one of those things. I saw it when they were building it. At the time, they also showed it on satellite. Then, 3 years later, I go to look it up again, and it is no longer being shown. Now it seems, it is being shown again with more features built.

Too many saw it? Maybe they are trying to pass it off as part of Ft. Bliss? Maybe their plans for it have been killed? Who knows?

It is NOT a rifle range, and is not shaped like any medium or heavy weapon range I’ve ever been on (as a retired U.S. Marine). I’ve shot on the long range at LeJeune, and am here to tell you, you don’t lay out ranges like that. That is NOT an ‘overlapping field of fire’, that is an amphitheater. Amphitheaters are for training and teaching. Possibly re-education.
