First there was nothing out there, then all of a sudden we were told, well, there is an asteroid out there set to fly closely by the earth today! Well I pleases me, and doesnt suprise me, that I can now confirm that NASA says everything is OK and the rock flew by with no problems!

Any thoughts that the world is about to come to an explosive end from an asteroid impact have been quashed by NASA.

Although the space agency confirmed a giant rock is zooming past us today, they’ve said there’s no need to panic.

So don’t worry about filling out your last will and testament this morning.

The space agency has been busy spending the past few months debunking claims that a “doomsday space rock” will wipe out humanity this month.

Now it has confirmed the 270-metre Asteroid 2012 TT5 will speed past the planet today and insisted our species will live to fight another day.

In fact, asteroid pass near the Earth many times a year – and some even come close enough to enter our atmosphere.

Fortunately for us, almost all of them are destroyed due to the extreme atmospheric friction heating they receive.
