A trillion-ton iceberg has broken off the West Antarctic ice shelf, scientists monitoring the growing crack have revealed.
The 2,200 square mile section of the Larsen C ice shelf snapped off between Monday and today, the team at Swansea University said.
While such cracks happen periodically, experts are also watching to see whether the process has been affected by climate change.

To many Earthquakes in the area snapped it off. No surprise at all. The question is will the glacier flows slow or speed up? Will the ice broken off stop pulling the glacier or, will the flow increase in speed because there is less ice to push. A trillion tons has something to do with the speed of the flow I am sure.
