Several months ago, former US Marine Steven Gern posted a video to Facebook which garnered over 40 million views. Whether we like his opinion or not (especially the left), both sides of the political spectrum should be very alarmed at what has happened since.

Gern has had his YouTube channel, Twitter account, and other social media accounts shut down or his postings removed without justification. Although social media companies do not publicly disclose the reason for termination of user accounts, we all know what’s happening on the internet with regards to censorship.

What do we do about it? If we are to protect free speech, the most important thing we can do is share information among us. Tell everyone about what has happened to Steven Gern, because at some level, it’s happening to each of us. Facebook is “throttling” the information you receive in your news feed. Youtube is deleting content they deem to be inappropriate — by their libtard standards — and they are demonetizing independent media outlets which try to bring the truth to their fellow Americans.

More and more Americans are concerned about internet censorship and propagandization of the news, but very few know what to do about it. They feel frustrated by the fact that there are a just a handful of leftist-run companies such as Google, Twitter and Facebook, and they feel helpless under their power.

Americans Say Political Correctness Has Silenced Discussions Society Needs to Have; Most Have Views They’re Afraid to Share

Nearly three-fourths (71%) of Americans believe that political correctness has done more to silence important discussions our society needs to have. A little more than a quarter (28%) instead believe that political correctness has done more to help people avoid offending others.

The consequences are personal-58% of Americans believe the political climate today prevents them from saying things they believe. Democrats are unique, however, in that a slim majority (53%) do not feel the need to self-censor. Conversely, strong majorities of Republicans (73%) and independents (58%) say they keep some political beliefs to themselves.

Americans Oppose Hate Speech Bans but Say Hate Speech Is Morally Unacceptable

Most Americans (59%) think people should be allowed to express unpopular opinions in public, even those deeply offensive to other people. Forty percent (40%) think government should prevent hate speech in public. Nonetheless, an overwhelming majority (79%) agree that it is “morally unacceptable” to engage in hate speech against racial or religious groups. Thus, the public appears to distinguish between allowing offensive speech and endorsing it.

US ex-Marine in Iraq speaks about Trump ban in viral video

In a Facebook video with over 40 million “likes,” a US former marine who says he is working in Iraq, Steven Gern, on Wednesday justified US President Donald Trump’s ban to prevent citizens of seven Muslim countries, including Iraq, from entering the US.

When Gern asked the Iraqis he knows what they thought of Trump’s ban, they expressed contempt for Trump. However, when he asked if the locals would accept him – an American – with open arms if he left the confines of his work area and went into town, the Iraqi soldiers said he “absolutely would not be welcome.”

When Gern asked, “What would happen to me?” they said the locals would torture Gern and kill him within an hour, possibly by beheading, then upload the video to social media for everybody to see “as an example.”

“The point of it is, the point I’m trying to make is, this is the local populace who would do this. This isn’t ISIS, this isn’t Al-Qaeda, this isn’t the PMU, this isn’t a militia from the Iranians, or anything like that. This is the local populace that would do this.

“So, my question to them was pretty simple after that: If you would do this to me, in your country, why would I let you into my country? Because all this means to me is that, if you have the opportunity to take the life of an American, you would do it.

“So, maybe there’s something you all need to think about back there,” he told his viewers. “If this is the way some of these cultures feel, if this is the way that these countries feel about Americans, why would you be so naive as to believe that if they came into the US, they would do anything any different than what they do right here in their own country?”
