Kentucky State Police Tweet ‘Anal Rape’ Warning For Drunk Drivers

Kentucky State Police have now apologized for the controversial Twitter joke about rape in a statement. They made a joke about anal rape using an image of soap Sunday in an anti-drunk driving tweet tied to the Super Bowl.

“The Kentucky State Police apologizes for the inappropriate tweet that appeared on our Twitter feed earlier tonight,” the statement said. “Making light of sexual assault is never acceptable, and we apologize for the distress this tweet caused, particularly to the victims of these heinous crimes. KSP is committed to protecting against sexual assault and fighting for justice for victims. This tweet – made by an individual employee – does not represent KSP or our mission.”

The basics of the tweet were that if you wanted to watch the Eagles win Super Bowl LII, you better not drink and drive because if you do, you’ll be anally raped in jail. “Enjoy watching Rob Gronkowski (TE) play but if you drink & drive … your tight end may end up in jail!” the tweet said.

Although the Kentucky State Police apologized and deleted the tweet, screenshots were taken and the damage was done.

The problem came from a gif of a bar of soap dropping.  A reference to what can happen when an inmate exposes themselves to anal rape in the communal showers of jail.

“The Kentucky State Police investigates allegations of criminal sexual abuse when requested by Kentucky Department of Corrections facilities,” the memo said. “All KSP troopers receive training in sexual abuse investigations during basic training at the State Police Academy…”

It was just a case of “too little, too late.”  And now KSP will have to deal with the social media backlash.

Another instance where police officers and departments are void of responsbility. Yeah, i’m sure this opinion is “isolated”. Thanks for showing us once again that police officers are void of responsbility for anything they have ever done, or ever will do. no matter what it may be

Of course, some took it as a joke. But most were offended.
