The world has too many people in it, this is often the pushed agenda by the Global Elites both good and bad, but there is a bigger issue that isn’t overpopulation, the issue lies in the consumers and the scale of their consumption. The greedy who eat far too much, make too much waste and do nothing to give back to the world. The people that hoarde and buy useless things that give no value to life. Fun fact: The rate of population growth has been slowing since the 1960s and the UN Population Division’s world fertility patterns show that, worldwide, fertility per woman has fallen from 4.7 babies in 1970-75 to 2.6 in 2005-10, so our world population is slowly reaching its capacity as it stabilizes around probably 9-billion as suggested by some studies.

Are you one of those who think there isn’t enough room on the Earth? Did you know you could fit every person on the planet in the state of Texas? In 2014 the world population was 7,268,730,000. The landmass of Texas is 268,820 square miles (7,494,271,488,000 square feet). This together is about 1031 square feet per person. There’s enough space there for everyone on earth to live in a townhouse while altogether fitting on a landmass the size of Texas. And we’re not even accounting for the average four-person family who would most likely share a home! For the Earth in general, every man, woman, and child on earth could each have 5 acres of land. The overpopulation comes in cities and towns. We cram thousands of bodies in small towns or cities causing many to be homeless due to jobs not being able to afford extra people and more!

Every year rich countries waste more that 220 million tons of food. Meanwhile, the poor still starve to death – not because resources are scarce, but because they don’t have the money or have rights to enough land. But we don’t have enough resources to feed everyone. What? I’m sorry? We’re THROWING AWAY 220 MILLION TONS OF FOOD A YEAR and we can’t feed everyone on this planet? No. That’s ridiculous to think that way. As I stated at the very beginning, consumption and consumers are the problems. We make an abundance of everything in the hopes to profit and when it comes to things that expire like food, we fail to realise we make and waste MORE than we can actually consume. Fun fact #2: Did you know all the world’s nearly one billion hungry people could be lifted out of malnourishment on less than a quarter of the food that is wasted in the US, UK and Europe, enough grains are produced to provide every human being with 3,500 calories per day – 1,500 more calories per day than recommended by the Food and Drug Administration.

As stated previously, we could pretty much fit everyone in Texas, but how much landmass do we actually occupy? A report was done by the European Commission’s Joint Research Center in 2009 and stated “95% of the world’s population is concentrated on just 10% of the world’s land surface. While only 10% of the world’s land is classified as remote or more than 48 hours from a large city…but we have the rest 80% well connected with roads, highways, farmlands.etc.” There are ways to make the roads and highways work for housing and spreading urbanization instead of having such huge gaps between cities with nothing in them. A way to coexist with the environment and build with it instead of destroying it. If you ask me it doesn’t look like any kind of depopulation is needed, what is needed is a leader to bring the world together and enforce rules of consumption and stabilize birthrates to hold at a specific number where the world can flourish with its people. We’re pigs. We eat too much and throw out even more. Do I agree with a mass population reduction? No, I think with proper guidance and rules the world can work with what we have. Is there a way around it at this point? Probably not.

There is coming a time where the population will be cut dramatically. Not by death but by a return home. Not all of us will stay here.
