Pastor Caspar Commentaries - A wee bit of encouragement goes a long way

Several people there who had driven several long hours told us that they came just to hear me play and share the Gospel. Pastor Brandon and I both received a lot of encouragement for the things we shared in our presentations. It’s always rewarding hearing someone tell you how your message was life changing for them, as if the Lord was speaking through us with a personal message just for them.

After returning to my hotel room I discovered that I had received a number of very encouraging text messages and email letters as well from various people who had gotten a copy of my newest album Game Changers.

Several people shared in their letters how after they became Christians they struggled trying give up listening to secular music.

One women shared how she even felt she went through a grieving process trying to only listen to “Christian music” after a Christian radio stationed gave a 30-day challenge to only listen to their station to see how it improves your life.
Here is an excerpt of what she wrote to me,

“When I had given up all of the secular artists, I had felt as though there would never be any God glorifying music which I would actually truly enjoy. I was resigned to this. But I was determined to be thankful for the right kind of music anyway. And Jesus was really patient with my attitude, and helped me come to love and treasure what I once thought of as “boring, bland, and beat-less” Christian music. As I got over myself, Jesus straight-up blessed the mess out of me with leading me to you Pastor Caspar. I first saw you on a Chalk talk episode. I was completely thrilled. I have not stopped listening to your music since. I absolutely love how you sing the WORD. And your style..Its ART! (I fancy myself a bit of an varied artist.) You are truly a modern day God glorifying minstrel!”
Well, I can certainly relate to the experience she shared in letting go of popular secular music. There are layers of dimensional spiritual epigenetics at play in all this.(Pun intended)

It appears Martin Luther was the first one quoted to have said, “Why should the Devil get all the good music.”
I recall years ago after I left Atlantic Records how I tried to listen to all Christian radio and most all the music sounded incredibly lame to me by comparison to what I walked out of in the secular world.

Nevertheless, it appears to me that the Lord Jesus/Yeshua never waste anything in his economy, excepting those 2000 swine, making the first devilled ham in history…. but I digress. Lets just say Paul the Apostle gave us glimpses into his tent making ministry, and some of us give you glimpses into our musical training and backgrounds as we seek now to live a life today that is glorifying to Christ.
