Riled truckers poised to strike Nov. 26 – 29

Under normal circumstances, this would not be an issue we’d give credence to. However, these are not normal circumstances and since these notices are flying around the Internet, for better or worse, we’re passing them along.  A lot of effort has gone into putting the following site together which makes it all the more compelling:

CDLLife describes itself as the largest online community of truck drivers in the United States — offering transportation industry news and job listings. There are currently upward of 900,000 long-haul truck drivers. According to Business Insider, trucking moves 71% of all the freight in America and most grocery stores would run out of food in just three days if long-haul truckers stopped driving. They transport everything from apparel, household goods and fuel to medical supplies, new cars and construction materials.

Based on earlier results of a poll conducted by CDLLife many truck drivers may be willing to get behind a targeted strategy. Out of nearly 1,300 respondents, 79% of drivers polled said they plan on refusing loads to cities with disbanded or defunded police departments — the same cities that tend to vote blue. Joe Biden has pledged to end fracking, (brief video), which would significantly raise fuel prices and displace thousands of American workers.

“How Working Class Truckers Might Protest >> Shut ‘er Down,” also has a political component that expresses frustration with the Nov. 3, 2020 election, shared by many Americans.

The best hope is the potentially crippling strike doesn’t take place, but stocking up on some basic provisions which will not spoil and you’d use anyway, is never a bad idea. Adding toilet paper to the list is unnecessary. After the last fiasco, it’s a good bet you’ve probably stockpiled an ample supply.
