Breaking: North Carolina City Put on Riot Watch After a Black Male Is Shot by Police

Elizabeth City, North Carolina is the scene of a riot watch, as a man in a car was reportedly shot and killed by police on Wednesday.

A Pasquotank County sheriff’s deputy in North Carolina reportedly shot a father of 10 children, according to news outlet WAVY-TV.

The officers were executing a search warrant at 8:30 a.m. when the shooting occurred. The man was identified as 40-year-old Andrew Brown. WAVY reports that he was in his car trying to drive away from the scene. Half a dozen shots were fired, according to neighbors.

Brown was laying on the ground for almost four hours, according to reports, further inflaming tensions. A crowd gathered on the scene to shout at the police officers. (Caution: Graphic language.)

The local residents continued to shout at the police officers, claiming that they should not be wearing the badge.

A man yelled at police officers for reportedly claiming that Brown ‘had a gun.’ The local police was authorized for body cams, so we may soon find out the entire story, much like in the case of Makiyah Bryant.

On Tuesday afternoon, a 15-year-old girl named Makiyah Bryant was shot and killed by police, reportedly about the same time as the ‘guilty’ verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial came in.

Protesters appeared in Columbus, Ohio to carry out a strikingly well-organized march on behalf of Makiyah Bryant. The Columbus, Ohio police released body cam footage that shows Bryant about to stab another girl with a knife.

The Bryant case is a powerful illustration that no one should jump to conclusions before the facts of an ongoing criminal investigation are fully in.
