Anti-GOP desperation reaches a “slashing” zenith

Movie reviewer, with no movies to review, recommends cutting conservatism out of our lives

There’s no question Arizona’s radically left local newspaper is fighting for its life. To counter the fact that subscriptions are in the toilet after losing it’s building and repeatedly being on the auction block before finally being sold, it showcases its commitment to ethnic diversity hires, while giving a hostile thumb’s down in opposition to diverse thought. Massive staff cutbacks are evident to even a casual reader as editor deprived ASU Cronkite Journalism students take up the slack prior to being ready for prime time.  A columnist who died over three years ago reappears through his recycled columns, with the added bonus that he doesn’t require a salary. 

The latest attempt to save a buck is moving the movie critic into the political arena. Bill Goodykoontz has held on longer than cartoonist Steve Benson, who was unceremoniously kicked to the curb after decades when the failing newspaper could no longer afford the Pulitzer Prize winner.

It’s not a stretch to imagine Goodykoontz dutifully double masked as Biden and Fauci recommend. Though with no movies to review during the pandemic, he shows off his ambidextrous skills as he swings far left to grovel at the feet of job security, morphing from a reviewer to a venom spewing critic of conservatives. 

Not only does he attempt to decimate top rated Fox News host Tucker Carlson, but like a foot stomping petulant child, he demands viewers, “Cut him out of your media diet entirely, even if you’re a fan.”  He also advocates cutting the My Pillow guy Mike Lindell out, “Like a vegan would red meat.” Why?  He’s a Trump supporter, which warrants not only silencing, but loss of your livelihood. “Vote with your remote,” hotshot Goodykoontz, the impostor who calls other people liars, advises.

You get where this is going.  See no conservatives, hear no conservatives and you’ll eventually lose your ability to comprehend or articulate conservative thought. The hope is you’ll be ignorant enough to actually buy the overpriced, leftist newspaper that pays Goodykoontz’ salary.
