Published on vinyl at the time and disappeared from circulation, this live in Rouen in 1978 recovers the quartet of David Murray in full in excellent shape. The album opens with the fast “The Fast Life” free melodic and good example of the potential of the group, from the solo horn Lawrence Butch Morris the only tenor of the owner, David Murray with typical acute and going up and down the scale of pure vertigo. Then half time “Monikolé” nice melody and good place for us Dyani Johnni give away with a good bass solo. Then “Let The Music Take You” that reminds this writer the music of Sly & the Famili Stone. A good approximation from jazz to funk-soul. To end a topic in a more improvisational and abstract wave, “The Hill”, in which the group is dedicated to work hard to achieve different instruments and soundscapes certainly succeed. A good example of what should be a reprint, contains a very good live sound. By shunning the usual inclusion of alternate takes and unreleased recording issues remains in the four great themes and forty minutes passed like a shot and leave the listener with the feeling of wanting more.
