Legends of Lingerie

Lingerie is described by the online dictionary as undergarments. It is a lighter and more form fitting type of underwear, as described in the french language. It is typically worn in the evening time as a comfortable and fresh way to start relaxing & love of self care and more. Because evening time is generally the moment when most people come home from being out during the day doing business & more.

Lingerie can be worn underneath of clothing as well. Most do not have wires or other very hard textures unless they are for art display because that is really uncomfortable. If you live where it’s really hot, like I do in California- it’s alot more breathable than cotton fabrics. There are several types of geometrical fashion designs with lingerie nowadays, which are very gorgeous and various shapes and sizes and designs and have really pretty energy. I think it looks alot more modern than the fabrics and structure of the previous eras.

There are several different kinds of lingerie, which can be worn for several different purposes. For performance, I would choose a material that is very hard and contrasting with something very soft to give it structure yet freedom. I like the idea of lingerie because it teaches you self love as well as appreciating all your curves, while bras conform and constrict to their design and uniformity.

The different materials used can range from sequins, to feathers to lace and silk, cashmere, likely almost most anything, but cotton because that represents a completely different energy- which is of the daytime, the sun, of a different structure. I saw all different types of way to describe lingerie which is exactly in tune with your own body shape and design. There are very modern, like tether balls with chain designs, tennis court mesh netting & other geometrical patterns, as well as traditional soft and beautiful ones like lace and silk (which silk is my fav) to mimic roses & bouquets of a romantic evening.

Most are worn like body suits and can be perfectly fit to everyone who wears them in such a way where you can be really comfortable and yet also happy too. I grew up watching Britney Spears performing in ballerina type outfits, like Avril Lavigne too and dance body suits and they are honestly the most comfortable things you can wear and love yourself in too. I saw Machine Gun Kelley playing tether ball and there are lingerie sets made to resemble the same vibes… with chain and net & the ball leather- very modern & comfy too.

A History Of Lingerie

The word lingerie is definitely French, from Middle French kingdom, from linge, linen, from Latin lineus- which means made of linen… and archaically predating western civilization as well, but first coming into use being known as the term which we know it nowadays in 1835. Today, the popular definition has become widespread to mean women’s underwear and clothing that is worn in bed!!

It was popular in the early 1900′s to have a small boyish shape, so corsets and other types of underwear were very tight and boxy, to hide the appearance of curves in women. As time went forward, the idea of sexuality and beauty is tied to having a voluptuously curvy figure and embracing the roundness and celebrating, instead of previous- where the designers had envisioned a restriction of wholeness, by boxing the figure in.

The face of beauty was really made iconic by the gods of fashion and beauty in the Greek regions, where they embraced the ideas of sexuality and beauty as well as a similar conception as modern times- where the ideal figures were either athletic and toned, like Athena or soft and curvy like the Venus of Wilendorf or Aphrodite herself because the flesh inspires temptaions by the lips and so more of a full body is accepted as sexy. This vision became widespread then and now as well as it’s the most desirable figure to have by most.

But really beauty is what comes from inside, but we can master the art of love and design with simple lines and shapes to express the simplest of spiritual messages. Just like how make-up was created by crushing minerals, such as lapis lazuli into eyeshadow to ward away evil from the eyes. The blue color is also reminiscent of lower Egypt and the reign of the cobra spiritual & royal representation of cultures. The blue lotus flower is attributed to the dream and spirit worlds, the Heavens and waters below as well- just like Aphrodite, whom was born from sea foam in the ocean, by desire & faith in a seashell- where she rose up from Heaven like a light in the dawn, the eye of mankind…

The eye was really the center and focus for all things geometric. In fact, people with eating disorders and body issues, frequently interpret everything in shapes and analyzing each one. Not only is this a subconscious printing from society onto women, but also geometry and mathematical expression plays a huge part in this as well. That is why it is important to listen to your heart and envision pure light & hope for the future- you will reflect what you desire and become what you are eternally forever.

In a similar fate, the goddesses and spirits of ancient mythology are resurfacing- not only by archeologists who rediscover ancient artwork, which was stored away and hidden- which displayed more information and record through simple shape and design- than any hieroglyphic ever could- but the similar destiny has been uncovered- one headed forward towards unity, progression, luck, freedom, chance & exceptional beauty of love eternal.
