Power outages forcing Texas gas stations to close
Many jumped in the line of vehicles at Murphy Express near 610 and Ella Boulevard. He had already passed several closed gas stations, and he needed to fuel his white Chevrolet Silverado truck before driving to Galveston for work later this week.
“Pretty much all the gas stations that way are closed,” Person said, pointing north on Ella.
Power outages have created a gas station dichotomy. Some sit dark, unable to open. Others have long lines of people waiting to buy fuel for the vehicles they’re sitting in for warmth and the generators they’re relying on for power.
