NASA has its eye on a huge asteroid that will skim past Earth later this month.

Asteroid 441987 (2010 NY65) has made the US space agency’s ‘Earth Close Approach list’ and is set to come near us on June 25. The asteroid should shoot past Earth in the early hours of the morning on June 25

NASA has identified the course of a killer asteroid named ‘ Didymos’ which will be approaching Earth in October 2022. Find out what will do with it.

Lindley Johnson, NASA’s planetary defence officer said in a statement on its official website, “The first step to stopping a killer asteroid is finding it. There are literally hundreds of thousands of asteroids out there, and we want to separate out those we should keep a closer watch on and monitor over time.”

Johnson revealed that so far, there are 2,078 potentially hazardous asteroids in NASA’s catalogue. In October 2022, a half-mile-wide asteroid called Didymos will approach Earth.

The killer asteroid will be accompanied by its 500-foot-wide moon, which will be orbiting it. Given the huge size of Didymos and its moon, ground-based telescopes will be able to detect the asteroid very soon. They will also be able to detect the durational changes in its orbit around the larger asteroid to measure the effects of the impact.

Amazon has just unveiled the plans for its new corporate headquarters that will stand in Arlington, Virginia, directly across the Potomac River from Washington DC. The announcement inaccurately describes the design as a “double helix” but scholars of ancient history and the Bible will readily recognize the ancient model for the design: the Tower of Babel.

Construction on their second corporate headquarters is expected to begin next year and when completed in 2025 at a cost of $2.5 billion. It will include 2.8 million square feet of new office space distributed across three 22-story buildings.
