5 Weird (and Wonderful!) Benefits of Having a Marijuana Prescription

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

With 92% of medical marijuana users reporting that it’s helping them, more and more people are now seeking their own marijuana prescription. If you’re dealing with issues that could be helped by medical marijuana, it could be the safest and simplest treatment on the market. Beyond what ails you, there are a variety of other reasons to use medical marijuana.

Here are just five of the many reasons why a medical marijuana prescription is a huge benefit to your life.

1. No More Sneaking Around

One of the best things about being able to buy marijuana with a prescription is that you don’t have to worry about buying illegally anymore. When you buy weed from a dealer, you don’t have any idea where it comes from. You might not even end up with a quality product in the end.

When you have a prescription, you can get it whenever you want without having to arrange a pick up with a stranger.

You can also carry it around whenever you need to. Instead of having to worry about being caught with it, you’ll know that you have the right to have it on hand at all times. When you’re legally allowed to carry around marijuana, you feel a different kind of entitlement

Rather than hiding in the shadows, sneaking it around in your bag, or feeling like you could get in trouble, you never have to worry about it again. If you get pulled over for speeding, it won’t be a mark against you, so long as you’re driving sober. Having a prescription for it gives you the right to have it.

2. Try New Strains

When you’re buying from a typical dealer, you get a few different choices based on how the dealer feels and what they have that day. They could tell you that they have an indica or a sativa that does this or that, but who are you to know. You might end up with a hybrid that doesn’t sit with you at all.

When you have a prescription, you can walk into a dispensary and check out everything they have to offer. Instead, fo blind guessing about what strain works for you, you can try strains you might not usually have access to. Those strains will offer new experiences and different highs like you’ve never felt before.

You’ll be able to experiment with strains until you find the one that’s perfect for you. Instead of getting a random assortment of highs over the course of the year, you can get the prescription that fits you perfectly.

You can also try products that do away with THC altogether if you want to get something that has all of the CBD without the feeling of being high. If you want to know more about strains, you can see more here.

3. Use Under Advisement

When you have a prescription, you’re no longer dancing with the dangerous prospect of self-medication. Self-medication makes sense when you have no other choice, but when you have a prescription, there’s no good excuse for not having everything you need.

With the help of your staff at the dispensary, you’ll be able to have a guide to your high. No more guessing about what works for you when you’ve got someone to help offer advice about what you should be smoking.

Think of your prescription as a VIP card to all of the best weed advice there is out there. If you have questions about what a certain strain could help you with, the staff at the dispensary can help. Even your doctor can help you make decisions about what you’re looking for in the perfect strain.

4. Trust What You’re Getting

When you’re buying from the average dealer, you could be told all kinds of promises about what the marijuana will do for you. And why wouldn’t they fib a little bit? After all, they have to sell whatever they have, no matter the quality of the weed.

Now that you’ve gotten your prescription, you don’t have to worry about sellers who just want to get rid of their product. The people you’re buying from now have all the knowledge you need and no reason to push a product you don’t want. They’ll get paid either way, so their best bet is to be more like a sommelier and to be honest with you.

When you have a prescription, you can trust what you’re getting is good quality marijuana. You don’t have to wonder whether this fell off a truck meant for the trash heap or if what you’re holding is high quality. If it made its way into a dispensary, it’s going to be good.

5. Be Part of the Community

One interesting side effect of getting a marijuana prescription is that you’re not part of a community of people who can get weed whenever they want. Not only that, but you’ll know more about marijuana than the average smoker. You’ll hear tips and advice that you can pass on to your friends who smoke.

You’ll also find that there is still a lot of advocacy to be done. Even if you’re living in a state where recreational marijuana use is legal, you can still get active.

As a prescription holder, you can become an advocate for other people dealing with the problems you deal with. As someone who benefits from the legal sale and purchase of marijuana, you can speak about people who may still be in prison for possession.

Get to know your marijuana community, now that you’ve gotten your prescription.

A Marijuana Prescription Could Be Just What You Need

Depending on what ails you, a marijuana prescription could be a fast and simple solution to curing your problems. With everything from migraines to cancer treatments, medical marijuana has a wide range of positive effects that impact sick people around the world.

My problem with having had a recommendation, ( prescription is “legal” terminology not applicable to cannabis ) is your prohibition of owning any sort of firearm, legally. In Washington State, it is strictly forbidden to have cannabis and guns on the same person. Must be some kind of chemical reaction. That’s it!!
      Safety first!!

I know. My wife has to buy my guns for me now. It’s embarassing.

Not so in my state. I have a ccl and a pot card. I frequently carry both as I carry a pistol at all times. This is legal for me at the state level. However I cannot purchase a gun from a ffl dealer. Pretty sure I can go private sales but I currently have no need to. I have all the guns I want or need now. Finished my collection beforehand, I knew the Feds would take a while to catch up…
