You Live Where?! 5 Seriously Weird Houses From Around the World…

There are 7.5 billion people living on planet earth. Given all of those people and their infinite tastes, odds are that some them live in some pretty weird places, right?

Absolutely.

Our team has scoured the web and boy oh boy, were we shocked when we happened upon some of the weird houses that exist around the world that we’re about to show you.

So, without further ado, sit back and start appreciating that cookie-cutter look of your condominium because you’re about to hear about some serious structural oddities…

1. Boeing 727 House in Hillsboro, Oregon

Portland is Oregon’s quintessential weird city. Heck, it might be America’s weird city.

Someone forgot to tell Bruce Cambell that.

Bruce Cambell is an aviation enthusiast that decided to build a whole house out of an airplane in a suburb just outside of Portland called Hillsboro. The home was built in 1999 and cost him just over $300,000 to complete.

That’s not much by today’s standards but 30 years ago, that was a hefty price to pay.

2. The Upside Down House in Trassenheide, Germany

You ever feel like your world is upside down? Apparently, a man called Klaudiusz Golos decided to embrace that feeling when he built a weird looking house that’s constructed completely upside down!

This house was built to be a tourist attraction so people don’t live in it day in and day out (thank goodness). Still, it’s a sight to behold and certainly a welcome addition to our weird houses list.

3. The Toilet Bowl House in Suwon, South Korea

We have to take our hats off to Suwon Sim Jae-Duk. If we were the mayor of a major city, we wouldn’t have the guts to flush taxpayer dollars down the toilet by building a toilet-shaped house to commemorate the founding of the World Toilet Association.

Despite the fact that this weird house features an incredible 360-degree balcony (in the shape of a toilet seat) we can probably think of better ways to spend the city’s money (helping solve poverty issues, improving roads, adding extra train cars to public transportation, improving school lunch programs… We could go on forever).

According to One Oak Exteriors, roofs need to be replaced every 20 years or so. Since this toilet bowl house doesn’t have one, on the bright side, they’ll get to save some money on associated expenses… Although this house’s plumbing bill might be a little high to compensate.

4. Floating Home in Seattle, Washington

The Seattle area is known for two things, incredible coffee and beautiful waterways… And Kurt Cobain… And for having the largest amount of serial killers per capita.

In regard to the city’s beautiful waterways, a wealthy anonymous person commissioned a 3.5 million dollars ultra modern, fire-safe house that sits right on the water. Tenants can literally park their boat by the garage!

5. The Flintstones Cave House in Malibu, California

If you love the Flinstones, maybe you’d love to live in a house inspired by the show?

In Malibu, California, you have that opportunity if you have a few million dollars laying around.

The house is small given that it only boasts one bedroom. Despite its space issues, it features fabulous ocean views and quite literally, rocks (pun intended)!
