4 Weird Things That Millennials Do In 2019

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Anyone born between the years 1981 and 1996 is considered a Millennial. And despite outnumbering all other generations as of this year, the world still loves to hate on this generation.

Why? Well, things Millennials do are definitely different from how their parents and grandparents did things. But that’s a sign of the times right?

Keep reading for 4 “weird” things that Millennials do. You can decide for yourself whether Millennials are geniuses because of how they do things, or if they’ve crossed the fine line between “genius” and “insanity”.

1. Strange Transportation Options

Cars, buses, and trains used to be the only options for transportation. Nowadays, Millennials get to where they need to be by motorized scooters, rent-a-bikes, and motor-powered skateboards.

Ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft have also taken over making taxis a thing of the past.

This shift likely happened because most Millennials live in urban centers where it’s impractical, and unnecessary, to own a car. Millennials also find that these transportation options are more economical and can even cut down on their commuting time.

2. Meal Delivery Services

One common Millennial stereotype is they never get off the couch. They’re lazy and entitled and expect food to be delivered right to their door.

While the negative stereotypes aren’t true, the “food delivered right to their door” part is. Between meal preparation and delivery services like Blue Apron and Purple Carrot, grocery delivery services, and even a “we will deliver anything” service like Postmates, Millennials truly never need to leave their apartments.

3. Eyebrow Choices

Older generations are required to be confused by the fashion sense of younger ones. In the 70s it was bellbottom pants, in the 80s it was scarily bright neon windbreakers, in the 90s/00s it was low-rise jeans, and now, it’s eyebrows.

The evolution from thin to bold eyebrows is fine.

But what about this eyebrow trend that had people adding “Christmas lights” to their eyebrows? Or when people fanned them out like feathers? Or when people completely shaved off their eyebrows?

Strange indeed.

4. Odd Slang

It’s hard to keep up with all of the Millennial slang that pops up; it seems there’s a new word every day.

From “on fleek” to the video game term, “pwned” to, “I’m shook” to, “that’s the tea, sis”, it seems like Millennials are speaking in strange tongues, or at least in code so the “old people” don’t figure out anything they’re saying.

Will the Things Millennials Do Ever Make Sense?

While these things Millennials do might seem odd to those not in that pivotal generation, it’s not that hard to see why they do them. Rising prices, huge amounts of debt, and a changing technological world have shaped Millennials into the generation we know and love (and love to hate).

One thing we didn’t mention on this list was the Millennial obsession with YouTube. YouTubers are the new big celebrities.
