#DezNat first appeared on Twitter in the summer of 2018 by a user of the handle @JPBellum. Bellum created DezNat with the aim of uniting Mormons across the internet. While some people feel at home with the DezNat community, others have considered them to be controversial.

Some members of the DezNat community may come off as abrasive and aggressive. However, DezNat on the whole is peaceful and supportive. With so much secular media out there, DezNat aims to be unapologetic in their support of the church and following the prophets. 

Several past prophets, including Brigham Young, may be seen as politically incorrect by today’s standards. However, these people were also influential in the Mormon religion.
