25,000 Year Old Buildings Found In Russia? The Mysterious Dolmens And Megaliths Of The Caucasus
In Russia, in the Caucasus mountains, not far from the cities Tzelentzchik, Touapse, Novorossiysk and Sochi, there are hundreds of megalithic monuments. The Russians call them dolmens. Russian and foreign archaeologists have not yet discovered their use. All these megalithic dolmens you see below in the pictures are dated from 10,000 years to 25,000 years ago, according to the website Kykeon. Other archaeologists put the age of these megalithic structures at 4000 to 6,000 years old.

Thousands of prehistoric megalithic monuments are known throughout the world. Some of the least known outside the former Soviet Union, however, are those in the Caucasus. These dolmens cover the Western Caucasus on both sides of the mountain ridge, in an area of approximately 12.000 square kilometers of Russia and Abkhazia.

The Caucasian dolmens represent a unique type of prehistoric architecture, built with precisely dressed cyclopic stone blocks. The stones were, for example, shaped into 90-degree angles, to be used as corners or were curved to make a perfect circle. The monuments date between the end of the 4th millennium and the beginning of the 2nd millennium B.C.

While generally unknown in the rest of Europe, these Russian megaliths are equal to the great megaliths of Europe in terms of age and quality of architecture, but are still of an unknown origin.
The dolmens are found in the area of Krasnodar. Krasnodar is a city and the administrative center of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Kuban River about 148 kilometers (92 mi) northeast of the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.
Concentrations of megaliths, dolmens and stone labyrinths have been found (but little studied) throughout the Caucasus Mountains, including the Abkhazia. Most of them are represented by rectangular structures made of stone slabs or cut in rocks with holes in their facade. These dolmens cover the Western Caucasus on both sides of the mountain ridge, in an area of approximately 12.000 square kilometres of Russia and Abkhazia.
The dolmens have a limited variety in their architecture. The floor plans are square, trapezoidal, rectangular and round. All of the dolmens are punctuated with a portal in the center of the facade. While round portholes are the most common, square ones are also found. In front of the facade is a court that usually splays out, creating an area where rituals possibly took place. The court is usually outlined by large stone walls, sometimes over a meter high, which enclose the court. It is in this area that Bronze and Iron Age pottery has been found – which helped date these tombs -, along with human remains, bronze tools and silver, gold and semi-precious stone ornaments.

The repertoire of decoration for these tombs is not great. Vertical and horizontal zigzags, hanging triangles and concentric circles are the most common motifs. One decorative motif that is quite common is found across the top of the porthole slab. It can best be described as a lintel held up by two columns. Pairs of breasts, done in relief, have also been found on a few tombs. These breasts usually appear above the two columns of the porthole decoration. Perhaps related to these are the stone plugs, which were used to block the porthole, and are found with almost every tomb. They are sometimes phallic-shaped.
Some unusual items associated with dolmens are big round stone balls, double balls and animal sculptures.

One of the most interesting megalithic complexes – group of three dolmens – stands in a row on a hill above Zhane River on the Black Sea coast in the Krasnodar area near Gelendzhik, Russia. In this area there is a great concentration of all types of megalithic sites including settlements and dolmen cemeteries. Large stone mounds surrounded the two monuments.

The central dolmen is rectangular in plan, 4 x 4 meters, while the two flanking dolmens are circular, 4 and 5 meters in diameter. The two round dolmens had been bulldozed – probably in the 1950s – in order to harvest the surrounding trees, but the main structure of the central dolmen had not been damaged.

Another (fourth) dolmen near the Zhane River has a secret entrance at the back of the chamber, and a façade, dummy entrance and courtyard at the front of the dolmen. There in addition to these pristine dolmens were some ruined dolmens.

Does it never occur to these “scientists” that these may be people’s little houses? Why does every ancient artifact have to do with religion, rituals and sacrifices? Cracks me up, I swear.
They figured out that these were tombs when they also found the remains of settlements from the same people and time period that were not made of stone. Try to keep in mind that back in those times, “science” was spelled R,E,L,I,G,I,O,N. That’s all they had, so everything was based on religion and ritual. This particular cultural norm persisted as the norm for thousands of years and still persists to this day in some communities. The scientists that you so blithely dismiss, actually spent time and sweat taking the classes, doing the labs, picking at the rocks, studying the markings and ancient languages… all the stuff that you have yet to do in order to render an educated opinion. It may well be that “houses” or “Flintstone’s garage” was the very first thing to cross their minds but being scientists, they had to analyze the hell out of it and come to a more educated conclusion.
Those are pretty amasing…Kind of looks like Fred’s garage in the old Flintstones cartoons.
Or to be closer to the truth, just how wrong is main stream history. When I was a child the history of ancient Britain being taught in the UK was based on Troy. But because they couldn’t find any existence of Troy outside of Homers Illiad, it was completely scrapped. British history official doesn’t begin now until the Roman invasion.
Trouble is we’ve now found Troy. They haven’t reinstated the original history. Hardly anyone knows it was even different.
They look like playhouses built for the kids of Giants.
Giants could have possibly moved those sized stones into place.
houses as used to make them
I guess they stacked those multi-ton stones with their 10,000 man slave force. And used it to bury their holy men and cut the heads off gerbils in sacrifice to their gods..
Yes, scientists have a set stack of queue cards to work from. Watch them pick one and then just laugh in their face.
That’s because archaeologists are not qualified engineers, geologists or engineers, many of them haven’t been anywhere near an anthropology class, the study of human activity. All they know is party line main stream history, how to dig stuff out of layers of soil deposits without destroying the evidence, package and cataloguing. Their interpretation is as good as anyone else’s.
Kept the Dinosaurs and Giant Nephilim out…
How extraordinary and quite a puzzle. Because the skill level to construct so many heavy monolithic buildings that have survived all these centuries is extremely high, also the accuracy of the geometric patterns, but the skill level of the animal depictions are very primitive. To me that says the buildings date back to a period before the end of the last ice age and were taken over by survivors at a much later date, after all technology and knowledge of producing such refinements were forgotten.
There are any number of reasons for their use, it had to be important and practical enough to warrant the energy needed to construct them. My bet is they were originally for food preservation and storage… ice age pantries. Cleared out and used by impoverished survivors later on for another purpose. Perhaps to live in. That part/longitued of the world during an ice age is ‘the’ place to be.
Cliets… prehistoric pantries.

photos 2 and 3 down look like they have carved on the front a door of the dead (door to the afterlife) that is famous in Egyptian mythology but may have originated or is present in the Malta megalithic temples http://www.everythingselectric.com/forum/index.php?topic=315.0
why put that symbol on the front of the dolmens?
the holes are also interesting as the maltese temples also have holes in them. we are told they were for sound but no one knows as nothing is known about maltas temple builders
one theory about dolmens is that they could have been used to concentrate electromagnetic forces onto young seeds to change their properties. and perhaps with humans as energy or healing places?
its a safe no different than you would use one for now. if danger was near maybe you sleep in it. if it is really harsh weather, maybe you go in it. you put your crop in there if you have one even if that is just berries or nuts. you put your kindling in there to keep it dry for starting fires. you put your meat in there before your cured it so wild animals don’t take it while you sleep. you put your kids in there when warring tribes are near. you put your prisoners in there while you decide what to do with them. since its the most work to build and is the only thing of permanence in the tribe it is also likely the center of the tribe, a symbol and reality of territory and place. something you could instantly recognize even after a long journey of 20 or 30 years, or if you were captured as child and returned as an adult. I think people live so soft a life now they cannot comprehend how hard life can quickly become. Having a strong stone box like this is a powerful asset. Its fireproof. Its water resistant. Its large predator proof. Its time-proof even as we can see now.
Incredible article guys – the holes are different shapes but reminded me of some dolmen I found in Turkey near the Bulgaria border – http://www.travelblog.org/Photos/7209037.
Keep up the good work
The moving of huge stones is likely not as great of a mystery as many believe. Stones can be walked along gentle inclines (bury your structure as you build it and then unearth it), and much more is possible.
Just watch this incredible video to be convinced. This guy builds his own stonehenge using only his own muscle power.

I Know exactly what there Dolmens are made for!!
Has none of you ever read ‘The ringing Cedars’ series of Vladimir Megre?
Anastasia explains what these dolmens where built for..
They are holy places.. Very wise and old men (sometimes woman) who had a lot of wisom and knowledge about many things were ‘burried’ alive inthere.
When they felt they almost died, they went in there and the people of the tribe closed the dolmen.
The person in the dolmen then started meditating.. long long meditating.. And than the bodie died, but the soul of the man or woman stays in the dolmen, till today… They decided to stay there forever and not to reincarnate so that the people, forever, can go there and ask the souls who are still there, about the wisdom they ceep. All you have to do is to start meditating when you are at the dolmen, and you will hear about the wisdom.
There is one dolmen I would really love yo visit once.
There is a woman Spirit in there. She know the ancient sacred wisdom about breastfeeding. About how to give your child all the knowledge of the Universe, trough breastfeeding.. =)
So, here’s the true story about the Dolmens.
When you visit them, realise they are Sacred places.
Honor the Spirits who are in there.. don’t destroy these beautiful buildings..
Either some of those things have been restored or they have been remarkably lucky not to have been damaged by falling trees over the eons. Not a lot of weathering on the artistic features either.
A hole the right size for a man but not a large animal or maybe a giant (nephilim) Yea, I think it’s a Fred Flintsone house. You gotta protect the family. Where’s the car?
As usual, comments add much insight. Yes, of COURSE people lived in these Dolmens. Maybe for another purpose at first, but they would be taken over as dwellings sometime in the past 5000 years.
If I lived “there, then” I would have 20 Dolmens along a trapping and hunting route 200 km. long, and keep my family in a big one close to the ocean [and a younger woman in each one along my route?]
These Dolmens have a place in the modern world – in Canada we are making that size “mini-homes” for homeless people and crowded cities, but out of wood. Stone slabs obviously last longer, and we have machines to hone and move them.
But nobody tells me how they moved 20 ton slabs around, or how they cut the round hole [sometimes virgins can be difficult to penetrate]{only said to extend the sex metaphor of course}
Things are Very Suspicious and dont add up.
The technology of the round openings do Not add up with the rest of the designs nor work done for it.
Such hightech fuzz for a hole and then the rest just hushhush hurryhurry put against eachother without any Craftsmanship or Sign of tech or finishing.
This is stone age apes and hightech drillingscience that did not like eachother it seems.
Also they are not where objects +6000 years old should be et all.
Maby a setup to create tourist industry like the piramides also were/are
I Also Miss all the other Must Be Found if any Society existed around such objects. Bones Foodrests Campfires Waste household objects Tools workshops Gatheringplaces etc …
If you are talking about the dolmens as little people’s dwellings remember that each dolmen used to have a very heavy stone plug (30 to 50 kg) to seal the hole. Can you imagine opening this “door” every time you need to enter your home!?
20 tonn slabs were fit so precisely at perfect angle for purpose that they could not be burial sites either. Please read my article about the true purpose of those megaliths – http://www.spaceoflovemagazine.com/article_dolmens.htm
Tried checking out that website but the link is broken
Dolmens were used by the Annunaki (Our gods) to incinerate their dead
Yeah, we can tell because of all the evidence you presented,
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=tomba+dei+giganti&client=opera&hs=p5D&biw=1920&bih=980&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjn4LPEu6LOAhXpC8AKHZvJBgoQ_AUIBygC#imgrc=LXs3zK45k1Em3M%3A
this looks awfully familiar, i would even say they were both used for exactly same purpose
The oldest actually date to around 7000 years old.
But I know “real science” usually means “cover up” on bin, so who know knows.
These people were SERIOUSLY into getting “Stoned”and they had a LOT of free time on their hands and not a lot to do but erect big rock structures !!!
