WTH Is This Monster Found In Vietnam?
Recently, Karapaia, a Japanese news site focusing on the strange and weird, posted a video of what seems to be a giant monster being dug out of the ground in Vietnam. In the video, the long, fat, gray slug-like creature is surrounded by a crowd of curious onlookers watching with rapt attention as the horrifying behemoth is hoisted onto a trailer.
But what in the world could it be? A giant worm? An alien aggressor? A genetic experiment gone horribly wrong?

Sperm whales have teeth – this is a baleen whale.
I’m sorry to inform you all but you are all wrong about this creature’s identity. This is clearly a photograph and video of the extremely rare and dangerous Cambodian Dikfer. That or a common Asian Henwei.
While photos of the common henwei exist they are rare. It is the Cambodian Dikfer that has never been photographed before. Kudos to the people who got this one! They could’ve died a most gruesome death if they had crossed a Dikfer.

As they loaded it on the trailer its head, eye, large mouth, and blowhole appear to indicate whale…
I also Googled both the species and found no reference or photos of either the Cambodian Dikfer or the Asian Henwei……

BTW the Henwei’s, research shows that sized depends on actual breed. They can get very large from what I understand.

most likely a juvenile Blue Whale. Pectoral fins aren’t large enough to be a full size adult…even the body length wouldn’t be close to adult size. But you can obviously tell by the long curved shape of the mouth and how the bottom billows out that it’s a Blue Whale. Just look up some photos of a Blue Whale and you’ll see it right away.

Just google search baleen whale. It is definitely that. For the person that wondered why they dug this up, they didn’t dig it up. There is no hole in the ground visible after they lift the whale. Obviously this is just a beached whale they are removing from the beach.
JohnF you are correct indeed and for the rest that think they will eat that whale that they didn’t dig up, think again. In Cambodia it is considered good luck by the fisherman if they see a whale dead or alive. They will most likely have a land burial and ceremony for it.

It does look whale-like, but what about those tiny, TINY pectoral fins? It does also appear to have a very pointed nose. It’s shape is like a long tube… not really what I associate with a whale. Sure, it has a blow-hole like a whale or dolphin, but all that really means is that it breathes air. It does appear to have a baleen which obviously whales have, but does not exclude any anomalies. In the end, even if this IS a whale, it sure is a VERY ODD looking one. Perhaps the mother abandoned it because it had birth defects.
