What to Do When America’s Government Supports Islamic Terror?

The short answer is…not much. Yes, we can and should be praying. Yes, we should do what we can to make our homes and lives as secure as possible. In the end, we cannot expect this particular administration to do anything that would even stand against Islam because they are too busy supporting it by – at the very least – running interference for it.

We have a president who states – in connection with the slayings of three Muslims in Chapel Hill, NC – that no one should be targeted for their name, ethnicity, or religion. Yet, there is no evidence whatsoever that the leftist who murdered the three individuals in cold blood, did so because they are Muslim. Once again, President Obama jumped the gun as he has done so many times before when he attempts to stand in the gap for blacks or Muslims.

We have a state department in which a young, white, leftist who seems barely out of college by the name of Marie Harf who tells us that extremist Muslims are really only looking for jobs. If they had jobs, they wouldn’t be involved in terrorist activities. I wonder if Nidal Malik Hasan, a U.S. Army major and psychiatrist, who shot and killed 13 military personnel while yelling praise to Allah would agree with her? After all, he was gainfully employed.

We have members of the Muslim Brotherhood – a group that Egypt rightfully calls a terrorist organization – employed by our own federal government, many with very high security clearances. We have Coptic Christians beheaded by members of ISIS and President Obama can’t even deign to call them Christians, but simply refers to them as Egyptian citizens. More than this, at every turn, the current president of the U.S. seems to go to bat for ISIS and various other sects and groups with Islam, with Bishop Bodeja of Nigeria claiming that the only way the Obama administration would offer any help to Nigeria would be if Christians there changed their tune about some of their beliefs related to homosexuality and family planning.

One of President Obama’s latest moves is to Alberto Fernandez – the current director of Center for Strategic Counterterrorism Communications – with someone who has known ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, by the name of Rashad Hussain. He’ll step into his role this April.

Of course, with all this going on and the constant denials by the Obama administration to call Islamic terrorism, terrorism, the media is once again pointing out that the biggest threat is not ISIS or Boko Haram, but domestic right-wing groups.

This is like saying that the boy who is constantly tormented by bullies and finally does something about it is called the “aggressor” or the one who “started it,” when in reality, he’s taken as much as he can and he’s decided he won’t take anymore. But with the leftist mindset thoroughly at work in society, we are quite used to how the narrative is twisted so that the opposite of truth comes to the fore.

So what DO we do – as Christians – when we see and understand that our elected officials are dragging America down the wrong path? What DO we do when we see how many laws are broken and how many words are twisted to mean something they don’t mean? What DO we do when we become heartsick over the fact that Islamic extremists are killing people (including Christians) daily and instead of action, all we hear are excuses for their behavior?

What DO we do when we see a government that is becoming so evil it is completely unrecognizable to what made this nation great?

In reality, I’m not sure we can do anything except pray. We need to get to a point where we can put all of this into God’s big hands and leave it there. No matter how difficult it is for us to reach that point, we must push ourselves to get there so that we will actually be out of God’s way.

Yes, America has lost its way, but this country was not sidetracked in 2008. It was sidetracked decades ago by presidents like FDR and too many others to count. We are reaping as a nation what Satan began in earnest a few generations ago and if you think we are going to turn it around, I would ask that you rethink that sentiment.

There is far more that can be accomplished through prayer than anything else. It is through prayer that we align ourselves with God’s ways and purposes. Do we honestly think God doesn’t know what’s going on? Do we think even for a second that God’s hands are tied and He can do nothing without us or that He is waiting for us to change our outlook before He can move? If you think that, I would suggest – with all due respect – that you bury your face in His Word and find out what He is doing NOW.

God is not handicapped. He does not need us before He can accomplish anything. His plans are sure and He is bringing this world to the climax of history in order that in all things, He would be glorified.

Evil is afoot. It is everywhere and like a growing cancer it is getting worse is not something that escapes God’s notice. God has a plan and the ultimate plan is to vanquish evil, to destroy it once and for all and bring tremendous glory to Himself in the process. Guess what? He does not need you or me to accomplish that.

He has a plan for us. He has things He wants us to do and the most important thing we can do is to be His witnesses to a dying world because once these people leave this earth without saving knowledge of Jesus, they are lost forever. Do you sweat over that? Are you disheartened to realize this fact?

I think too many Christians are getting totally wrapped up in trying to “save” America to the point that we have forgotten that Jesus told us to go into all nations and make disciples.

Maybe we should be less concerned about being “patriotic” and far more concerned with ensuring that people hear (and see in our lives) the Gospel, which is the only gospel that can save anyone, by the way.

I need this reminder as much as the next Christian. We are not here – behind enemy lines – for ourselves. We are here because God has people to save and while I do not believe for one moment that He will allow anyone to not gain salvation in this life who calls upon the Name of the Lord, He can certainly bring those people to Him without using any one of us. The fact that He chooses to use us should tell us something.

America is sinking. The people in it are sinking. Instead of getting caught up in that, shouldn’t we use that as a reminder of just how much God loves us and wants to save the lost of this nation and the world?
