The Fake Arrest of “Millennial” Millie Weaver

Rightwing conspiracists across the nation crapped their pants on Thursday on hearing that “Millennial” Millie Weaver, a 28-year-old conservative journalist and frequent contributor to Alex Jones’ Info Wars, was apparently arrested just prior to releasing a video called Shadow Gate.  The documentary proports to expose a Democratic plot to enslave Americans, stripping them of the rights and freedoms they hold dear.

A video uploaded by Mill Weaver—or someone on her behalf—purportedly shows law enforcement officers arriving at her home to arrest her, claiming that a grand jury had indicted her, but refusing to specify a charge. The video conveniently occludes information that could have identified law enforcement personnel—no name badges or faces are seen. It’s interesting that Millie Weaver, a self-identified defender of the Constitution, avoided capturing on video vital information that could have buttressed her claims.

The absence of identifiable information lends credibility to an assertion made by Christopher Warwick, an information technologist once employed by Millie Weaver. He claims that Weaver’s arrest was staged, that the law enforcement personnel were actually actors and friends of weaver whom she paid to make it appear as though her home was being raided.

He said Weaver orchestrated the charade to amplify interest in the video, for which she earns a substantial income derived from a mix of clicks (advertising revenue) and hefty donations. Two years ago, Weaver told him she nets approximately $7,000/month in donations, the majority of which come from Caucasian males between 21-65 years old, many of whom have tried to court Ms. Weaver.

“I’ve known Millie since she started as a correspondent with Infowars, which, by the way, hired her for her looks, not what she had to say. They know cute blondes attract thirsty guys. She just cared about the money. Anyone looking into her past knows she was super liberal up until Jones offered her money. The whole arrest thing is totally fake. Views and money—that’s what it’s all about,” Warwick said.

Moreover, a GoFundMe account created on Weaver’s behalf has, at the time of this writing, generated nearly $20,000 toward a legal defense fund. Weaver’s estimated net worth is 1.2 million dollars. Even if the arrest really happened, which it did not, why would weaver, far from destitute, need donations for lawyers?

“It all boils down to greed,” Warwick said. “She needs tons of cash to live her lavish lifestyle.”

Attempts to corroborate Weaver’s alleged arrest have failed. No public records exist, and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department—under whose jurisdiction Weaver lives—said no one named Millie Weaver had been arrested.
