Look Around
Everyone has their own way of going through life It is a well-known yet less understood fact that no two people will ever be the same. We each have our own quirks and our own ways of dealing with and managing things in our lives. Knowing ourselves, we know the problems we are going through and therefore keep them very close to our hearts. But the question is, do we think about others in the same way we think about ourselves?
There are times when we think that our problems are so significant that there may come a point where we cannot shoulder the burden, but we fail to see others with the same baggage. We do not give them leverage that they may be going through something and may not be reacting exactly the way you want them to. It is vital to give people time to match your energy, and there may come a point where they let go of their guard. People tend to categorize people into groups. If we don’t socialize that much, then we are known as introverts. If we do, then we are extroverts. What this kind of classification doesn’t take into account is the kind of company we’re with, where we gather up, and, more importantly, our comfort level. Imagine if we are feeling a certain way, then there must be something that the other person must feel when they are having a conversation with us. We have to understand that it takes time for people to open up, and there will be other instances when they don’t open up to you at all.
Understanding another person’s point of view takes willpower and a particular state of mind. To know that there will be times when we fail to realize and analyze what they have to offer and what role they play in our individual lives. Try and look past what they may have done once or twice and see the bigger picture of how they are from the inside. You may not think about it then, but most of the time, people appear to have a hard shell, but once you get to know them, there is nothing but mush in their hearts.
We can help people in more ways than we realize. Sometimes we just need to put ourselves in their shoes and see the world from their eyes for a bit. A good conversation is all it takes to break the ice from time to time. Enduring a few pricks and bruises from the other person may be precisely the thing that will build a bond with the other person. It helps to remember how the good people in your life feel and strive to make others feel the same.
