Satanism Grows in Popularity. “Evil Can Only Prevai When Good People Do Nothing.”

Satanists at the convention wear a floor-length, hooded cloak and a black face mask. Their hands are bound with rope, which is then cast off as a symbol of freedom. Pages are torn out of a Bible to symbolize overturning and REJECTING their Christian baptism.

The Satanic Temple is recognized as a religion by the US government and has ministers and congregations in America, Europe, and Australia.

Hundreds and hundreds of people snapped up tickets for the convention, dubbed SatanCon.

They use the symbols of Satan for rituals – for example when celebrating a wedding or adopting a new name. They are proud to use an upside-down neon cross on the altar while shouting: “Hail Satan!”

For many Christians, this is a serious blasphemy.

The Satanic Temple’s code of guiding principles – the Seven Tenets – prioritizes empathy, control over one’s own body, and respect for other people’s freedoms, including the freedom to offend.
