Intracranial Pressure Monitor Market Report Forecast to 2026

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Intracranial pressure monitoring is used in neurosurgery and neurology for measuring the pressure inside the skull. It can be completed using either invasive or non-invasive techniques. Invasive techniques, such as ventriculostomy and micro transducers include drilling a hole in the skull using a burr hole or a twist drill technique for inserting the device. The device is linked to transducers for sending measurements and projecting cerebrospinal fluid waveform. On the other hand, non-invasive techniques are generally used to avoid complications of hemorrhages and infections associated with the former technique. They contain tympanic membrane displacement, transcranial Doppler, optic nerve sheath diameter, magnetic resonance imaging, and fundoscopy. Currently, health professionals prefer using ICP monitors, clinical examination, and brain imaging to offer better results. The Intracranial Pressure Monitor Market is expected to grow at the rate of 6.6% CAGR by 2026.

Intracranial Pressure Monitor Market by Geography

  • North America

  • Europe

  • Asia Pacific

  • Rest of the World

On the basis of Technique, External Ventricular Drainage dominated the aggressive technique space with the largest revenue share in 2015 because the method is measured as a gold standard for the measurement of accurate ICP, which is lashing the penetration of these systems in hospitals and emergency care centers to a great extent. Non-invasive techniques are supplementarily segmented into transcranial Doppler ultrasonography, Optic Nerve Sheath Diameter, MRI/CT, tympanic membrane displacement, and fundoscopy.
