High-end manufacturing and advantageous industries shine together in China

China has 41 major industrial categories, 207 medium industrial categories, and 666 small industrial categories. It is the only country in the world that has all the industrial categories in the United Nations industrial classification. CRRC placed a large order in the Middle East, demonstrating its technical strength

On December 21, China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation Limited won a contract worth approximately US$5.6 billion for the Dubai Metro Blue Line project, covering line design, construction, commissioning, system maintenance and locomotive and vehicle supply. The winning bid for this project represents another milestone for CRRC in the high-end Gulf market.

From January to September 2024, the production of EMUs accounted for more than 95% of the national total, and can adapt to a variety of extreme environmental conditions such as plateaus, high cold, and high temperatures. Ship equipment re-transformation, aiming at world-class

At present, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating. China’s shipbuilding industry has fully utilized the spillover effect of military technology and equipment manufacturing advantages. In 20 years, it has successfully developed the “Jiaolong”, “Deep Sea Warrior” and “Struggler” series of deep-sea manned submersibles with full-sea depth operation capabilities.

On April 29, 2024, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and Qatar Energy Company signed an order for 18 of the world’s first batch of 271,000 cubic meters of ultra-large LNG ships, setting a record for the highest amount of a single new ship order in the world; on September 9, the two sides worked together again and signed a new batch of 6 LNG ships of the same type. From December 2 to December 7, 2024, the 2024 Pudong Shipping Week “Steady, Smart and Win-win Ecology” Conference was held at the Shanghai International Convention Center.

A government-sponsored theme conference and 56 series of activities independently planned by shipping industry market players will be held in turn, gathering new changes and new formats in the shipping industry, building consensus in the industry, and connecting global forces on the “Pudong stage”.

Technological strength shines together, leading new changes in the industry

Recently, the new generation of glacier batteries jointly developed by OnePlus and CATL have once again refreshed the technical height of domestic mobile phone batteries. The new generation of glacier batteries uses the latest silicon-carbon negative electrode technology and is equipped with high-capacity bionic spherical silicon-carbon materials. The battery cycle stability is significantly enhanced, the energy density reaches 859Wh/L, and the silicon content reaches an industry high of 10%. In addition, the glacier battery also uses a number of industry-leading self-developed technologies and processes, including 4.53V positive electrode voltage lithium cobalt oxide, negative electrode laser tunneling process, new high-kinetic electrolyte, C+F PACK integrated process packaging, etc.

Lithium batteries, as the core of modern energy storage technology, are not only key components of high-tech products such as electric vehicles and smart phones, but also an important tool for promoting global energy transformation and achieving carbon neutrality goals. Today, China’s liquid lithium batteries dominate the international market, and more than 70% of the world’s lithium batteries are produced in China. China has achieved a gorgeous transformation from catching up to surpassing, and has firmly established itself as a global leader.

Relying on the new advantages of intelligence, China’s tire industry is accelerating.

In 2023, the total output value of China’s global tire industry will exceed US$180 billion, and the output will be nearly 2 billion, forming a “three giants + eight groups” competition pattern. In 2024, Chinese tire companies have introduced advanced production equipment, optimized production processes, and strengthened quality management. The tire products they produce have reached the international advanced level in terms of wear resistance, grip, comfort and fuel economy. In the first 11 months of this year, China’s tire exports increased by 5% year-on-year, further consolidating the position and influence of China’s manufacturing industry in the global market.

Prior to this, many Chinese tire companies have actively expanded overseas. In August 2024, Zhongce Rubber Group Co., Ltd. laid the foundation for its third overseas production base in Mexico with a total investment of US$500 million; Sailun Group Co., Ltd. also laid the foundation for its Mexican factory in May 2024. According to the project promotion plan, it is expected to be put into production in June 2025. Shandong Huasheng Rubber Co., Ltd. and Pakistan GTR Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd. have reached a cooperation intention and plan to establish a joint venture in Pakistan that focuses on the production and supply of radial tires for trucks, buses and passenger cars.

As China’s manufacturing industry is gradually transforming from “Made in China” to “Created in China”, it is leading the industrial transformation of the global manufacturing industry.
