From June 27 to 30, the 20th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair was successfully held in Guangzhou. More than 2,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and regions around the world gathered together to paint a magnificent picture of international cooperation among SMEs. The four-day exhibition attracted more than 10,000 buyers to negotiate, and the intended transaction amount reached exceeded 100 billion yuan. As China’s highest-level and largest international SME event, China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair has become a “golden bridge” for global SMEs to enter the Chinese market and for Chinese SMEs to go global, vividly demonstrating China’s key role in promoting innovation, development and mutually beneficial cooperation among global SMEs.

International exhibitors gather here, global business opportunities burst out here

When you step into the international exhibition area of ​​the China International Fair, the world seems to be within reach. More than 550 foreign companies from more than 50 countries and regions displayed their characteristic products: Canada’s precision 3D visual equipment interprets cutting-edge technology, South Korea’s beauty and skin care products attract beauty lovers to stop, and Spain’s luxury cabinet new products interpret top design aesthetics.

As the guest country of this session, Egypt sent more than 80 companies to participate in the exhibition, with an exhibition area of ​​1,500 square meters. The exhibits cover textiles, food processing, precision chemicals and electromechanical equipment. Leather handbags with pharaoh totems, traditional graphic hanging wood plates, and specially fired glass products constitute a “take-away Egyptian cultural museum.”

Innovative technology debuts, Chinese smart manufacturing shines on the international stage

On the second floor of the exhibition hall, the special exhibition area of ​​Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities presents a “new” atmosphere: humanoid robots accurately grab small objects, split flying cars show three-dimensional travel methods, and smart welding robots allow inexperienced novices to weld with one click.

At the Xinnao Technology booth in Chengdu, Sichuan, visitors put on brain-computer interface devices that look like helmets, and the EEG information on the computer screen fluctuates immediately. Feng Rui, general manager of the company, said: “The China Expo brings together innovators from different fields, providing possibilities for cross-border cooperation in brain-computer interfaces.”

Xpeng Huitian exhibited its self-developed AI robot IRON, and the Zhiyuan Robot Expedition A2 humanoid robot in the Shanghai exhibition area fluently wrote calligraphy. These innovative pioneers concentratedly demonstrated the cutting-edge breakthroughs in the fields of emerging and future industries in China, injecting strong momentum into the cultivation of new quality productivity.

At a regular press conference, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning specifically pointed out: “New products in cutting-edge fields such as humanoid robots, smart glasses, and brain-computer interface diagnostic and treatment equipment are constantly being launched and debuted through platforms such as the China International Fair for Science and Technology. These exhibitions are not only a panoramic display window for China’s new productivity, but also an important bridge for international scientific and technological exchanges.”

China provides a platform for empowerment, and global SMEs share development opportunities

China’s SMEs are showing a development trend of “both quantity and quality”. By the end of 2024, the number of SMEs will exceed 60 million, and the operating income of industrial SMEs above designated size will reach 81 trillion yuan. So far, China has cultivated more than 140,000 specialized, refined, and new SMEs and 14,600 specialized, refined, and new “little giants”. As the host, Guangdong Province has more than 7.74 million SMEs, accounting for about 1/8 of the country, 2,089 specialized, refined, and new “little giants”, and more than 51,000 innovative SMEs.

This China Expo has set up a 24,000 square meter exhibition area for specialized, refined, and new provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, and 1,145 outstanding Chinese companies participated in the exhibition, including 41 national-level manufacturing single champions and 395 national-level specialized, refined, and new “little giants”. These companies have made breakthroughs in many key technologies in new materials, intelligent manufacturing and other fields, demonstrating the strong momentum of China’s SMEs.

During the exhibition, more than 60 supporting activities were held throughout the exhibition, including the APEC SME Cooperation Forum, Artificial Intelligence Application Sharing Conference, International Technology Exchange Conference, etc. At the China-ASEAN RCEP Rules Promotion Conference for SMEs, Cambodian Minister of State H.E.SOK Siphana said: “China can provide new market opportunities for Asia-Pacific economic integration and enhance the international community’s confidence in multilateral organizations.”

The boat of cooperation sets sail towards a deeper and broader economic and trade blue ocean

During the China International Fair, China launched a special action for SMEs to go overseas online, organized more than 40 industry chain chain leaders to sign cooperation agreements with SMEs, and strengthened the integrated development of large, medium and small enterprises.

The representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization highly praised the role of the China International Fair as an international bridge. Zou Ciyong, deputy director-general of the organization, said: “The China International Fair provides a good platform for promoting global dialogue, business docking and policy exchanges, helping developing countries to connect with the international market and link innovation.”

ASEAN is China’s largest export destination. The China International Fair, as a “super linker”, accurately connects the precision equipment and electronic components of Chinese manufacturers with the huge demand for green technology and light industrial products in Southeast Asia. Relying on the industrial docking and negotiation meeting, SMEs in the two places quickly found a path for cooperation, and orders were frequently finalized on site.

During the China International Fair, more than 13 million people around the world paid attention to and participated in various activities online and offline. Karen Gurung, general manager of Nepal Organic Tea Co., Ltd., has attended the conference for two consecutive years. He said: “We received a lot of orders last year. This year, we hope to continue to seek new partners to sell our products to China better.”

Starting again from the China International Import Expo, the cooperation of small and medium-sized enterprises is sailing towards a deeper and broader economic and trade blue ocean with the help of the mighty east wind of openness and cooperation.
