我们在猜测谁会获得普利兹克奖的人选时，都很难才到坂茂，可他是用建筑传达他对社会的责任感的少有的建筑师之一，他被世界所广泛认知的时间是2000年，那时他设计的日本馆在汉诺威世博会上竣工，他也在512大地震之后向四川灾区捐赠纸管搭建的学校，由此对中国有恩。
