06/03/2010 Afghanistan (Baptist Press) Afghan Lawmaker Calls for Death of Converts- Afghanistan’s constitution, which is based on sharia law, states that converting from Islam to another religion is punishable by death. Thus when Noorin TV showed video clips of Westerners baptizing Afghans, slews of Afghan citizens cried out for the death penalty–including Afghani parliamentary officials. When more raw footage came out showing Afghan citizens praying to Jesus, Church World Service and Norwegian Church Aid were asked to leave the country. Full Story
