Our Father,

As prophesied by Micah, Your Son Jesus was born in Bethlehem; not just a mere man but “whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” And according to Your prophet he shall come back and rule after the return of the remnant of Jacob to Israel and “he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth. ⁵ And he shall be their peace (ESV).

The remnant of Jacob have already returned and have established the modern nation of Israel. Father, we look forward to the coming again of Your Son Jesus who will rule the nations and bring peace and prosperity to all.

Lord, show us how to prepare for His coming. By Your Holy Spirit teach us Your ways and confirm your Word in our midst. Here in Micah You declare that burnt offerings is not what You seek from us:  “but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God (ESV)? Help us Lord to seek justice in all we do and demonstrate Your love to all and remember to thank You always for everything regardless of our circumstances.
