I Love You!

With a firm “I love you!”

God whispered

a universe into being,

a heavenly kiss,

forming in the fresh winds that blew.

The rains soaked the earth.

The deepest oceans carried life,

creation had come to realise its true worth.

Darkness stepped back from light.

As day enthusiastically followed each night.

Love descended from heaven

forged by words of fruitful creativity.

Love the reason for centuries of prayerful activity.

A plan for happiness

hatched in the blink of an eye;

a simple task for us to do.

Walk humbly, justly,

while running life’s race tenderly.

humanity breathed,

echoing that same eternal whisper, Oh how “I love you!”
